We stayed at the Floral Hotel beside Dream Valley during Chinese New Year, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable hotel experiences we’ve had anywhere in China. While the location is already a major advantage being just steps away from Dream Valley and close to the other Hengdian attractions - what truly sets this hotel apart is the heart and personality behind it. This is not a typical boutique hotel. It’s a place shaped by the owners’ passion, taste, and genuine care for their guests. From the moment you arrive, you can feel that the hotel is a labor of love. The architecture and interior design are beautifully curated, with many pieces collected by the owners over the years. Walking through the courtyard and hallways feels like stepping into a different era, almost like entering a scene from the Song dynasty. Yet the rooms themselves are fully modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. It’s a rare blend of historical atmosphere and contemporary convenience, and it creates a sense of immersion that you simply don’t get at most hotels in the area. Even though we didn’t stay in the hotel’s best room, we were extremely comfortable. The beds are very firm - something to keep in mind depending on your preference - but we slept well. The room features a large, modern soaking tub that’s perfect after a long day of walking through the film sets and a separate bathroom and shower. And one of our favorite touches was the smart projector in the room, which turns a simple movie night into a cinematic experience. It’s small details like these that show how much thought has gone into making the stay enjoyable. But the true highlight of our visit was the hospitality. The owners are warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making guests feel welcome. On one rainy day, when there wasn’t much for us to do outside, they invited us into their main hall for tea. They set up a traditional tea table with a heated brazier, creating a cozy, intimate atmosphere that felt like visiting old friends rather than staying at a hotel. They kept bringing local snacks: seeds, small rice cakes, and even freshly cooked sweet potato - all offered freely and with genuine kindness. My wife and kids loved every bit of it. What could have been a dull, rainy afternoon became one of our favorite memories of the entire trip. Their kindness extended beyond that moment. At one point, we accidentally made a mess in our room (entirely our fault) and the owners helped us clean up without a hint of frustration or judgment. It’s rare to find that level of patience and understanding, especially during the busy holiday season. Breakfast each morning was another highlight. The hotel has a local cook who clearly takes pride in her craft. The dishes were fresh and simple but full of flavor, prepared with care and attention. You could feel her pride in everything she served. It’s the kind of breakfast that makes you slow down and appreciate the home cooked moment, rather than rushing through a buffet line like at larger hotels. All in all, this hotel was a true win for us. The personal touches, the warmth of the owners, the passion of the cook, and the unique atmosphere created by the carefully collected antiques all come together to create an experience that stands out among the many boutique hotels in the area. In fact, I would say it’s probably better than any other hotel around Hengdian. It’s rare to find a place that feels both deeply rooted in local culture and fully equipped with modern comforts, but this hotel manages to do exactly that. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Hengdian, whether for the parks, the film sets, or simply a relaxing getaway. And if we ever return to the area, we would stay here again without hesitation.

Die kleine Stadt des Liegegeschäfts, die mit ihrer Familie zu Fuß geht, die Landschaft ist noch gut und das Rhythmus ist relativ nicht so schnell in Shanghai. Diese Leute, die leben, sind auch unerwartet. Die Leiter werden uns enthusiastisch über die Spielstrategie informieren. Die Klimaanlage ist auch im Voraus geöffnet. In dem Zimmer gibt es Früchte, die wir liefern, Das ist sehr freundlich.

Very friendly and great hospitality by the owners. They are friendly and helpful and gave us a food and attraction strategy guide which was very useful as our purpose in Hengdian was to visit the major filming studios. The estate was located deep in a neighbourhood area and we have a small problem locating the front entrance desk. Currently they are still doing upgrading to the estate with gardens and swimming pool (refer to photo). I'm sure it will look amazing once completed. The estate was built in 2023 from the ground up and was designed by the same designer who did the Qin Palace. No wonder this homestay has this ancient building look. The room was pretty nice but I find the bed to be too stiff. I'm used to a soft and cushy kind of bed back home and couldn't sleep well for the 3 nights we are there. My family members have no such problem though. Homemade breakfast was provided everyday by 1 of the cleaner cum cook lady. She was super friendly and the food are fantastic and healthy. This is definitely worth a look if you are looking for accomodation in Hengdian and want to experience a more localised feel compared to a standard hotel stay.

Für Reisende ist dieses Hotel zweifellos eine sehr kostengünstige Wahl. Auch wenn der Preis erschwinglich ist, gibt es keinerlei Fehler bei der Service- und Einrichtungen. Es gibt eine Vielzahl von Mahlzeiten in der Nähe, oder Sie können die Fußgängerstraße nicht weit entfernt besuchen, die sehr lebhaft in der Nacht ist. Die Hotelzimmer sind geräumig und hell, mit guter Soundproofing, die jeden Abend eine ruhige und komfortable Schlafmöglichkeit ermöglichen. Das Front Desk Personal ist warm und aufmerksam, und der Eincheckungsprozess ist schnell und effizient. Von Buchung bis Checkout, bietet das Personal einen überaus gedankenvollen und professionellen Service. Die Frühstücksauswahl ist reichhaltig, und die Mahlzeiten können an den persönlichen Geschmack angepasst werden, so dass Sie sich wirklich zu Hause fühlen. Es war ein sehr zufriedenstellender Aufenthalt!

Super fun! This was one of the theme hotels that were hidden on the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street set. Appropriately, the Rosslyn Hotels' brand icon is the Landlady from Kungfu Hustle. Upon arrival, you check in at the North Gate's Tourist Services Desk. The concierge welcomed me with a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and asking me to add their butler (Housekeeper Xiao Xiao) to my WeChat. If I needed anything, I just had to text the Housekeeper Xiao Xiao (who was super helpful with all my questions (in English) during my stay). Then the bellhop whisked me away, via golf cart, to my hotel. There were several hidden hotels, with different themes, throughout the set. The bellhop took me through an unassuming door among into what looked like an empty set, and up an elevator to the room floors. The walkway offered a lovely view of the Ming Qing Palace set next door. The rooms were supposed to be themed as Guangzhou and Hong Kong in the 70s and 80s, but could easily pass for old Shanghai. The room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, the shower has nice and hot and with fantastic water pressure. The room has some of the largest closet space that I have seen in any hotel. The WiFi worked without the need to register a local cellphone number (I've found that many other hotels, in China, offered free WiFi, but you need to verify with an ID code text to you. The texts never come through to my U.S. phone number, so I have never been able to take advantage of free WiFi; that is until I got to this hotel.) The little details were delightful surprises around every corner. They always refer to guests as ”laoshi” (an honorific of teacher, or master, bestowed to actors) or as ”starlet”. Not gonna lie, I really wanted to take home the pair of the room's bone china cups. The stay also comes with very decent breakfast buffet that had both Chinese and western dishes. They will even make you fresh wontons and noodle soups to order. The restaurants in the park are not great and quite expensive by China's standard. I recommend loading up at the more tasty free breakfast to power through the day. The hotel's location was very convenient for touring Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street; which had very lively evening shows. (As you walk through the streets, look at the stores' signs and test your TV shows and movie knowledge by finding the Easter eggs.) The Qing Ming Palace Set is across the street from the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street's South Gateon the other side of the park (don't worry, it's not that far). To access the other sets, you can take their shuttle, but it does not come around very often. It's more efficient to get a Didi. Overall, it was a magical stay of being in the movies.

Der Aufenthalt vom Hall ist sehr zufrieden 👍 Die Effizienz des Rezeptors ist schnell und benötigt einen guten Service. Die Einrichtungen sind voll ausgestattet und die Waschmaschine ist mit dem Fitnessraum verbunden. Die Zimmer sanitäre Sauberkeit ist sehr sauber und der Sound ist gut. Im Wesentlichen ist die Lage des Zimmers noch sehr zufrieden, die Etage hoch ～ Sehenswürdigkeit ist gut. Die Umgebung ist perfekt, um zu essen. Es wird ein Roboter bestellt, um es zu schicken. Es ist einfach nicht zu bequem.

Wunderbar bleiben, Hoch empfehlen! Meine Familie und ich hatten einen erstaunlichen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel! Die Lage ist perfekt – nur einen kurzen Spaziergang zum Dream Bund, was es so einfach zu erkunden machte. Das Hotel ist spotless, und die Zimmer sind komfortabel, macht es eine große Wahl für Familien. Das Personal ist freundlich und aufmerksam, sicherzustellen, dass alles perfekt war während unseres Aufenthalts. Es gibt viele Restaurants in der Nähe, die eine Vielzahl von Mahlzeiten bieten, so dass wir nie Schwierigkeiten hatten, einen guten Ort zu essen zu finden. Der besondere Preis für Dream Bund Tickets war ein zusätzlicher Bonus, der unser Besuch noch besser machte. Wir fühlten, dass dieses Hotel einen hervorragenden Preis bietet. Meine Familie hat es hier absolut geliebt, und wir werden sicher wieder bleiben, wenn wir das nächste Mal Hengdian besuchen!

Das war mein erster Besuch in den Hengdian World Studios. Für meinen zweitägigen Trip habe ich auf Doubaos Empfehlung hin im Guomao Building Hotel übernachtet. Es war wirklich toll! Das Hotel gehört zu den älteren, gehobeneren Hotels in Hengdian. Die Einrichtung wirkt zwar etwas altmodisch, aber die Lage ist hervorragend. Lage: Etwa 900 Meter vom Hotel entfernt befindet sich ein lebhafter Nachtmarkt. Er ist zwar klein, aber die Durian-Kuchen und das Eistofu dort sind köstlich. Die fünf Hauptattraktionen sind nur etwa 3 Kilometer entfernt, eine Taxifahrt kostet 7–10 Yuan. Hotelpreis: Ich habe ein Kombiticket gekauft, das einen Zwei-Tages-Pass für zwei Attraktionen für Erwachsene, eine Übernachtung, zwei Frühstücke und unbegrenzten Eintritt zum Qin-Palast, zur Qingming-Flusslandschaft, zum Ming- und Qing-Palast, zur Guangzhou-Straße, zur Hong-Kong-Straße und zum Dream Valley beinhaltete. Das war deutlich günstiger als der Kauf von Einzeltickets. Das Hotel war sehr aufmerksam; ich bekam sogar ein kleines Geschenk! Ich würde dieses Hotel auf jeden Fall wieder wählen, wenn ich zurückkäme.

Ich hatte ein Dreibettzimmer gebucht und ausdrücklich eines mit Frühstück ausgewählt. Beim Einchecken teilte mir die Rezeption jedoch mit, dass ich nur einen Frühstücksgutschein pro Zimmer erhalten hätte! Meine Buchung für ein Dreibettzimmer mit Frühstück beinhaltete aber nur einen Frühstücksgutschein! Später sah der Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption auf mein Handy und sagte, die Plattform habe einen Gutschein bereitgestellt. Ich sagte, ich würde die Plattform kontaktieren, und er stimmte zu. Nach der Kontaktaufnahme mit der Plattform stellte sich heraus, dass es sich immer noch um ein Problem des Hotels handelte, und das Hotel stellte weiterhin nur einen Frühstücksgutschein bereit. Das Hotel gab mir sogar die Kontaktnummer der Plattform zurück. Die Plattform löste das Problem schließlich, indem sie die fehlenden Punkte selbst gutschreiben musste! Ich glaube nicht, dass die Plattform die Schuld trug! Außerdem hatte eine der Decken auf dem Bett ein kleines Loch (etwa fingergroß).

I really enjoyed my stay at Hengdian, Half Summer. It’s not too crowded, I don’t have to wait for the lift for too long unlike in a hotel. Check in was a breeze. The staff there were friendly and helpful. For breakfast, you can choose either Chinese style or western style. I preferred the Chinese style breakfast. The bed was comfortable and I was able to have a good sleep every night. The shower always had hot water, even the basin as well. Basic toiletries were provided. The staff even provided complimentary mineral water (daily) and fruits as well. I could also order food delivery. The location is wonderful. I took a high speed train from Shanghai Hongqiao to Yiwu station, then from Yiwu station, I took a cab to 凌云 Lingyun Metro/Light Rail station. Then I took the metro/light rail from 凌云 Lingyun to 明清宫 Ming Qing Palace. Once I exit the metro/Light Rail station, I took didi to the hotel directly. From the hotel, it is only a 10-15 mins walk to 2 local night markets and bubble tea shops. Not to mention that the attractions are also just a short didi away. The only thing that I hoped they provided was local tv channels. They do have a projector, but one would have to subscribe to watch local shows.
