I spent two nights at this property while visiting Guanajuato on a weekend getaway. For the unbeatable price and location, let me be frank: even if this place was terrible (it’s not, of course!), I would still return again. Seriously. For a brand-name hotel to be around ~$40 per night, it’s incredible. But that doesn’t mean I’ll ignore some issues that can be resolved. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. None were completely proficient in English, but they knew enough phrases to communicate just fine. I was impressed with their kindness and dedication to customer service! Thank you! The atmosphere is typical of most Holiday or Hampton Inns around the globe—breakfast area with seating, grab-and-go pantry, pool and fitness center, etc etc. Nothing too unique to Guanajuato, but that’s perfectly okay. The rooms—here’s where things start going south (things get worse). The first room I was assigned was not clean. There was a noticeable brown stain on the bed and orange/red residue on the bathroom counter. These spots were easy to spot and one of the first things I noticed about the room, rather than being able to admire the coziness or the TV or the airport view. I don’t like having to deal with cleanliness problems when I first enter a hotel room. Here’s what made things worse: for the life of me, I couldn’t get the hotel room phone to work. So I couldn’t call the front desk to request a change of rooms. I had to walk back and forth between the room and the lobby to get keys for another room and transfer all my belongings into the new room—I’m disabled and traveling without my normal wheelchair, so the movement is tiring. I didn’t expressly ask for assistance, so I’m not blaming anyone about the physical exhaustion but myself. However, I do consider a working phone and a clean room to be the responsibility of any hotel anywhere in the world. Moreover, the front desk employee met me in the dirty room as I was gathering my stuff to take photos of the unclean areas. I appreciated this gesture. It is crucial that housekeeping can rectify these mistakes. The only thing…at this point and throughout the rest of my stay, I don’t recall ever being told sorry for this inconvenience. An apology is a standard customer service expectation when something goes wrong. Thankfully, the new room I received was clean. Soundproofing wasn’t the greatest, unlike what I hoped, and I could hear the noisy truck traffic from behind the building during the day. On the positive side, the bed was comfy and all the outlets sustained a charge for my electronics. But the hotel phone? This one didn’t work either. Let me end the review here. Even though there were negatives to my experience, I would still stay here again for the location and budget-friendly cost. Plus, I would hope that the improvements needed will be acted upon in time for my next stay. A free shuttle to the airport is one of the boons to such a wonderful location, which I nearly forgot to mention.

Das Bett war Nicht ein komfortables Hampton Inn plush Speicherschaumbett - das Sie kennen und kommen zu erwarten mit dem Namen Hampton Inn - dies war eine sehr feste ältere Art Matrix, die nicht bequem war. Das Königs Standardzimmer war extrem klein. Dies ist eine sehr leistungsfähige Dusche, die groß war - das war das einzige, was ich sagen konnte, war gut über dieses Hotel. Zusätzlich die Front Desk Mitarbeiter nicht sehr willkommen oder freundlich. Der einzige schöne Mann, der hier arbeitete, war der Fahrer namens Simone. Ich blieb dort nur eine Nacht, aber ab dem Nachmittag Checkte ich bis zum nächsten Tag ein - mein Schlüssel würde mich nicht ins Zimmer 6 mal lassen!!! Weil das Front Desk Girl nicht scheint einen Schlüssel richtig zu programmieren und sechs Mal war ich aus meinem Zimmer verriegelt und nur fand ich heraus, als ich in mein Zimmer kam und der Schlüssel funktionierte nicht und ich musste zurück nach unten sechs Mal das ist nicht akzeptabel! Complete incompetence it’s a simple job to programmi a key. As far as the breakfast goes this is definitely not a Hampton Inn breakfast by any means it’s catered to the Mexican clientele - not international. Sie lieben ihre Chilaquiles sogar zum Frühstück (entschuldigen Sie, aber ich brauche nicht Tortillen Chips und gemahlenen Sauce erst am Morgen!). Das Essen ist wirklich geschmacklos und der Orangensaft ist nicht einmal real. Sie haben keine Papierkaffeekoppen. Und was noch störender war, war, dass es abgerissen wurde und Sie konnten nicht einmal bedienen oder sehen, was in den Gerichten war. Eine Frau, die kein Wort Englisch sprach, musste alles für Sie wählen, was schrecklich und lächerlich ist! Jedes andere Hotel lässt Sie sich selbst essen, aber natürlich nicht hier! Aus diesem Grunde würde ich allein nicht hier gehen, ich würde niemals empfehlen, in diesem “Hampton” Hotel zu bleiben. Es gibt ein viel besseres Hotel in der Straße, das City Suites (die rosa), riesige Zimmer und freundliches Personal, ich weiß, weil ich dorthin bewegt.

A pretty nice property, the rooms are clean and nice enough. Service is lacking, I called from the airport and found connecting to the hotel a bit difficult. I was aided at the airport by concierge staff inside the airport. After I could not get ahold of the hotel using my phone they called for me and passed me the phone. I spoke to the hotel operator or the front desk this was unclear. I asked for a shuttle pick-up at the airport. I was informed that shuttle pick-up at the airport required advance booking three hours prior to the required time. I am not sure why this is but it is not user-friendly for flyers arriving. I was then told to wait for a minute and the operator would see what they could do. I waited a few minutes and then the line was cut. I tried to call back but no one answered. I just took an airport taxi (280 Pesos). When I arrived at the hotel I checked in and was informed that complementary breakfast was served from 6:30 to 10:00 AM. I went to my room and relaxed for a while and then went out to the city. I took a local ride share (DEDE) and the fare was reasonable. I returned and went to bed after a long trip I slept well. I did note there is no provided water in the rooms and room amenities are sp****. I woke up a bit late the next day and went down for breakfast at 9:00 AM. Breakfast is a breakfast buffet unfortunately for me virtually every piece of food that was available was completely emptied and I noted several persons standing outside the kitchen door waiting for food. I did not see any service staff and most tables were dirty and empty. I walked the buffet and I walked around the dining room realizing that breakfast was available I returned to my room. I packed and left for the airport, I inquired about the airport shuttle to the airport and was informed it ran on the hour every hour (seemed odd since to get a pick up it required 3 hours advance notice). I was told by the front desk staff that the shuttle was available any time just let them know when I wanted to go. I found that confusing as well because after telling me it was available any time I was told it was on the hour. In closing, I was excited to see I was booked in a Hilton, unfortunately, this is not the standard of service I was previously accorded at a Hilton property, and sadly it was pretty disappointing. Another odd observation I made on the way back to the airport was Hilton has acquired several of the other branded hotels and is attaching its name to them as well, I hope they do better service-wise.
