Comfortable wee hotel very clean. Central location and easy to find. Great breakfast cooked to order along with all the usual continental options. and lovely helpful staff. Good value for money and we will definitely return in the future.

The hotel location is excellent and all shops, restaurants and attractions are a short walk away. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were very good and set you up for the day. Main meals can be bought at the The Lorne pub and restaurant which is two doors down from the hotel. The rooms were comfortable and had everything you would expect and need for a short stay. There is limited on-street parking outside the hotel which is metered. We stayed for three nights and parked in a council-run car park which is 300m up the road. We paid £30 for a weekly ticket which meant we could use any council car park in Oban for the duration of our stay. This was preferable to "feeding the meter." The Ranald is ideally located, comfortable, friendly and reasonable priced.

Lovely weekend stay in the Renald. As has previously been advised there are no lifts and we were on the top floor which was a bit of a jaunt but this was fine for us as 2 young(ish!) guys so wasn't a big issue. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were cleaned and glasses, etc replaced. The staff were also friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and shower was powerful - although it has a fire door so was quite slow to close. The only negative I can think of is that rooms are very close together so it could get quite noisy outside the room in the mornings with comings and goings of other guests. We were awake early anyway but I would imagine it would be difficult to sleep past 8am. Would definitely stay again as was very central and reasonably priced for a few days away! Also great pub a few doors down (The Lorne Bar & Kitchen) which is worth a visit and the hotel has dinner deals for the bar that can be purchased at reception.

We stayed the one night in an apartment. We had a couple of minor issues which were promptly dealt with by Melinda, well done. The apartment was spotlessly clean, quite, central and had all the facilities you could hope for in a self catering apartment, would have no hesitation in coming back or recommending the apartments.
