My recent stay at this hotel "Ramee Techome Hotel Khar" in Mumbai ( July 2024) was nothing short of a nightmare. Despite its four-star rating, my experience was riddled with issues that left me feeling disgusted, cheated, and deeply disappointed. Overpowering Artificial Scents: The first red flag was the overwhelming, sickly sweet deodorizer apparatus installed on every floor near the elevators. The smell was so strong that it made me feel suffocated every time I passed by. These artificial scents are not only unbearable but are also known to be hazardous to health, with links to cancer. How a hotel of this supposed caliber can subject guests to such discomfort is beyond me. Unpalatable Food: The room service was another disaster. Most of the food we ordered was substandard—extremely salty and completely unpalatable. Even something as simple as tea and coffee was poorly prepared. Bread came without butter or knife. Food came without serving spoons. This is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel that claims to be four-star. Filthy Furniture: Our suite was far from the luxurious experience we had expected. The sofa in the sitting area was filthy, covered in dust and stains. It was clear that proper housekeeping was not a priority here. This was not just an oversight but a glaring indication of the lack of care and attention to cleanliness. Terribly Designed Bathroom: The bathroom was a disaster in itself. The design was cramped and impractical, with a tiny shower area that lacked a curtain or glass door. This resulted in the entire bathroom floor flooding every time we showered. The sink was absurdly close to the toilet, making it an uncomfortable space to use. To top it all off, there was a massive, rusty, yellow-stained jacuzzi that served no purpose other than to take up space. The state of the bathroom was far from what one would expect in a four-star hotel. Useless Kitchenette: The kitchenette in our suite was as poorly thought out as the bathroom. It featured a rusty-looking induction plate and a convection oven, neither of which made any sense for a hotel suite. A microwave would have been a logical and useful addition, but apparently, that never occurred to them. The kitchenette lacked basic supplies—no cleaning cloths, no dish detergent or towels. Yet somehow, they managed to squeeze in a tiny clothes washing machine, which was equally useless because there was no place to hang clothes. The whole setup was impractical. Lack of Basic Amenities: The entire suite had just one small box of tissues, which was never replenished throughout our week-long stay. Even small expected conveniences like a small writing pad, pen/pencil were missing. Such negligence in attending to basic guest needs is simply unacceptable. Unprofessional and Disrespectful Management: The worst part of our stay, however, was the incident involving a piece of gold and diamond jewelry that went missing after a room service attendant delivered tea.
