Radha Cottage

Radha's Cottage is a lovely retreat, very well located at the end of the road in Matheran. It's a simple place, furnished largely with period furniture. The food is outstanding - the best I've had in 6 weeks of traveling in India. For those who are unfamiliar with Matheran as I was, a couple pieces of information: - The "toy train" runs very infrequently. Be sure to get a schedule if you plan to take it from the parking. - It's a 4.5km walk from the train station near the parking to Radha's. Don't believe the stationmaster if he tells you it's a 20 minute walk, it's an hour's walk. - It's still another 1.5km from the train station in the village to Radha's. If you've got a bag it's probably a good idea to get some help from a porter. - Sometimes the electricity goes out. When we stayed, these outages were brief, just a minute or 2. - Sometimes the water in the bathroom is dark brown. This surprised us one morning. It's dirt, and cleared during the course of the day.

Absolutely fantastic stay with very nice food. Rooms were neat clean and spaciously designed to suit a perfect gateway for a relaxing time. Swiming pool topped our experience with much excitement. Food was just awesome. The lighting of the place during evening suited a very romantic setting

Had a great and comfortable experience at Radha Cottage. As I was a first time solo traveller, Mr. Narendra ji helped and guided me a lot to make my stay & trip comfortable. He is very polite and kind. Staff’s behaviour was also very good. It’s a beautiful property. Rooms are clean. Overall, it was my one of my best stays ever.

### Review Very well managed and in good condition for a heritage property. Rooms are quite big (at least the one I stayed in). The food was really excellent. It is close to viewpoints such as One Tree Hill and Alexander Point. The manager, Mr. Narendra More, was very helpful. The only point I was unhappy about was that the bed was far too hard for me. Mr. More did arrange for a layer of bedding on top, but it didn’t help much. There is good WiFi with 30+ mbps in the room. I could do video calls and work quite effectively. Mobile coverage was almost non-existent. Most smartphones can now receive normal calls over WiFi, so this is not much of an issue. Overall, it's a good place to stay with excellent food, helpful staff, and fast WiFi, making it a great choice for both relaxation and work.

Very nice resort away from the market. It is covered in good forest area so you feel a lot of temperature difference between the market area and when you are at Radha Cottage. I loved the rooms because they were very clean and well kept. The food is delicious no doubt in that. I already knew that the food will be the best because I read all the reviews about their maharashtrian cuisine. Loved the ambiance of the entire property. They have taken care of the activities like they have indoor play area and good library with good books to read. And in the peaceful climate you can read a lot. I want to thank Santa, who was always there to help us.

It was horrible experience with property staff is very rude and unprofessional.. I was expecting good service but got done.. rooms was very dirty and fungal in the room ... Food was worst.. I will not recommend this property my hole life ... Please ignore if you are booking this property

The food is very homely and nicely cooked, I felt at home. The host is very nice and very friendly. Nice place to chill and enjoy, in between nature. The sunset point is near the cottage and hence you can just walk there in the morning and enjoy the sunset

Lovely ambience. Beautiful and well maintained property. Radha Heritage cottage is a perfect choice for family, friends and even solo holidays. Excellent food and a very sweet host (Radha)to make u feel comfortable. Rooms, decor and nature goes together like a melody. I will keep visiting this place again and again.

Excellent stay experience. Awesome food and food variety. Truly complete package for friends and family stay. Magnificent garden surrounding. Magical ambience at night.  Sort of Vintage setup gives Coozy Feel. One of the best place I have seen. Totally worth to stay and enjoy.
