So after checking lots of hotels online, I choose this, and off I am to enjoy my life and wait for my trip. Until... about FIVE days before my arrival, they message me asking me to cancel my booking (it was through a notorious booking platform so I guess the cancellation has to be from the guest) because they have no more space!!! I was shocked - surely then you stop taking bookings, not cancel a booking that was confirmed 3-4 weeks before? They didn't give me an explanation, I imagined their system messed up in taking bookings from different platforms, and it was easier to bump out a single person rather than a family. But seriously? I had 5 days to find myself a new place and I was pretty busy in my life, and all the other places I had looked at were sold out by then so had to start the search again and ended up spending more in a new place. I loved where I stayed and thankfully I am not struggling for money, but what if I was? I found this very unprofessional and 100% unacceptable, really no way to run a business - make your guest homeless 5 days before departure, and not even give a proper explanation (language barrier might have been an issue). As I complained, they even said they would try to find me a room, which was the moment I really hit "cancel" because I didn't want a second rate cupboard arranged last minute, I wanted the room I had chosen through careful selection. Anyway I am glad I had a great experience elsewhere.
