"hotel has a history that makes staying here worth the price and experience, walking into the lobby, one is transported back in time to a space of 1800s as they have preserved the hotel in it's origin condition. the high ceilings with hanging lights, wide red carpeted stairs and antique birdcage elevators adds bring out the beauty and charm of old. we booked a city view room and was upgraded to a pool view room, where it's less quite and the rooms more exquisite. hotel breakfast restaurant overlooks Kandy lake, giving the morning meal another layer of admiration as we dine in wood furnitured environment. location is superb, Kandy Lake and Buddha Tooth Temple just across the street and the Big Buddha Temple less than 25mins stroll away. lots of good food places around for one to explore and eat. rooms are old but charming that way, the wooden floors creak and is uneven but that's the fun of staying in a hotel with almost 200years of history. staff are charming and friendly, always ready to help. a prestigious hotel in Kandy, highly recommended for anyone who visits this beautiful city on a mountain top."

"Der Restaurantservice ließ deutlich zu wünschen übrig. Der Zimmerservice verweigerte uns um 22:00 Uhr ein Sandwich. Insgesamt war nichts zufriedenstellend. Der Service war mal sehr hilfsbereit, mal eher weniger. Die Aussicht war mittelmäßig. Der Preis war für die gebotene Qualität angemessen. Die Badezimmertür war unpraktisch. Die Stromversorgung ist für europäische Verhältnisse nicht ausreichend."

"1. 예약 및 카드결제 정상 완료된 바우처를 보여줬는데, 바우처 금액이 왜 스리랑카LKR 지불이 아니고 대한민국 KRW 지불인지?? LKR 로 환산하면 얼마인지를 되려 나에게 묻는 황당한 호텔 직원을 해외 40여개 국 500회 이상의 호텔 투숙을 해 보면서 난생 처음 봤다. 황당하지만 그래도 환율 앱으로 환산 금액 보여줬는데도 갸우뚱 하더니 다른 직원 이랑 뭐라뭐라 하더니 나를 기다리게 만들고 늦게 온 3명을 먼저 체크인 시켰다. 2. 잠시후 해결되었는지 어찌어찌 체크인 해주었는데, 내 여권을 복사한 직원이 나에게 where r u from? 이라는 황당한 대화를 계속 이어가더니, 굳이 객실 안게 까지 때라들어와서 불은 어떻게 키고, 커튼은 어떻게 여는지 등등 밤 22시 넘어서 겨우 체크인 해서 들어온 나의 시간을 계속 빼앗더니 물이 2병 있는데, 유료 물도 아닌 그냥 프리 워터 2병이 있는것을 1명 예약하면 1병만 마셔야 하는데, 특별히 2병 다 마시라고 선심 쓰듯이 말한다. 3. 불쾌함을 따지기도 귀찮아서 그냥 알았다고 나가라고 직원을 내보냈는데, 가만히 보니까 내가 예약한 객실 보다, 싼 가격에 등급이 아래로 낮은 객실로 마음대로 배정해서 준것이었다, 객실 사진 비교.(비슷해 보이지만 엄연히 가격이 다른 객실임) 다음 날 새벽 05시에 나가야 하기 때문에 그것도 따지지 않고 그냥 씻고 잠을 처하려 했는데, 4. 커피포트 내부가 녹이 슬어있다. 얼룩이 아니라 녹이 슬어 있다. 게스트하우스 아니고 호텔 이다. 여러가지 황당함을 뒤로 하고 샤워 하려는데, 물 온도 미세조정이 안된다, 살짝 돌려도 뜨거워 화상 입을 정도 온도. 또 살짝 돌리면 너무 차가운 물... 무슨 ....ㅠ 5. 다음 날 05시에 일어나서 체크아웃 하려는데, 로비 리셉션에 직원이 없다.... 무슨 한국 무인 모텔도 아니고, 객실 키를 호텔 프런트 데스크 전화기 옆에 놔두고 말 없이 체크 아웃 했다. 6. 그나마 위치 빼고는 아무것도 추천 할 수 없다."

"I absolutely loved this hotel! The location was great, and the views were nice. I only wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy more of the peaceful atmosphere. My room was cozy and relaxing, and I especially loved the bathtub which was perfect for unwinding after a long day. The infinity pool was another highlight with gorgeous ocean views, though it was a bit on the cool side. I do wish it had been heated, but it was still a beautiful spot to relax. Room service was great too! Good selection and reasonably priced for a hotel. Cons: On my last day, I treated myself to a 90-minute aromatherapy massage at the spa. Unfortunately, I’d rate the spa a 5/10. Living in Thailand has definitely spoiled me with incredible massages, so I admit my standards are high! Still, I think the spa could use a bit of a refresh. The rooms smelled a bit old and weren’t very visually appealing. It was also quite cold during the body scrub and massage, which made it hard to fully relax. Breakfast was okay, but I wish there were more Western-style options available. Overall, I’d definitely stay here again. Everything about the hotel itself was lovely, I’d just skip the spa next time!"

"had pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I couldn't be more impressed with the level of service and hospitality we received. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. The team was incredibly helpful in arranging transportation and suggesting places to visit. They recommended we attend the Tooth Relic Procession and suggested us to visit a waterfall, which turned out to be the most breathtaking waterfall I've ever seen. Their local knowledge truly enhanced our experience. When our cab dropped us off in the mid , the hotel staff immediately came to pick us up in tuk-tuk. The staff was consistently polite and accommodating, making us feel welcome and valued throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place where the staff genuinely cares about making your stay special. Thank you for the experience!"

"Nice hotel with a great view over the river. Some of the furniture in the rooms are a bit dated and could do with some DIY. The room lighting could be improved and the odour inside the washroom should be better managed. Beds were comfy, rooms were very spacious and the facilities in the hotel were good. Food was tasty and had a wide variety."

"The staff was very friendly. We were already greeted with a small tea and the service was very accommodating. The most impressive was the swimming pool on the roof, from which you could overlook the mountains and the valley! The bar had very high quality delicious food and also cocktails. Very nice location, very good cleanliness and an extensive breakfast buffet. We regret not having booked for longer."
