Lovely hotel, a few disappointed issues, one was there was never enough white fresh bread at breakfast bacon was awful not cooked enough. Secondly the shower was a nightmare I have difficulty getting into a bath so having to step into the bath to then try to get the shower working was a real pain. And the safe was an issue as well three times in one day we had to call the reception to get it get it fixed. But these are only minor problems apart from them it was a lovely hotel but probably wouldn’t return

Wir haben das Riu Vistamar auf Empfehlung unseres Reisebüros gebucht. Aufgrund der vielen rezenten schlechten Bewertungen wollten wir unsere Reise noch kurzfristig umbuchen und sind froh, dies nicht getan zu haben und können uns gut vorstellen wiederzukommen :) Was uns gefallen hat: -Die Aussicht ist gigantisch! - Der Kinderpool, zwar recht kalt dafür aber keimfreier als in anderen Hotels. Es empfiehlt sich Neopren Shorties für die Kinder mitzunehmen. Braucht man eh im Atlantik... - Essensauswahl: wirklich für jeden was dabei und - Alkoholische Cocktails bestanden aus hochwertigen Zutaten - Ein Becken, das Schritt für Schritt tiefer wird zum Schwimmenlernen: super toll um seinen Kindern im Urlaub das Schwimmen beizubringen - Viele Liegen mit Schatten- sowie Sonnenplätzen - Der Miniclub spricht Deutsch und hat ein schönes Angebot. Unsere Kinder mochten am liebsten Kinderschminken und Luftballontiere. Samstags werden T-Shirts bemalt. - Die Minidisco - Die Sportsbar - Der Strand Was uns nicht so gefallen hat: - Ja, es stimmt man trifft im Hotel häufiger auf frisch Erbrochenes. Ob das an der Hygiene liegt, können wir nicht beurteilen. Wir glauben, dass der Verzehr von Miesmuscheln, die 2x am Tag opulent aufgetischt werden und ein eingefangener Sonnenstich auch dazu beitragen. - Softdrinks gibt es leider nur am Automaten. Es wäre schön zumindest zeitlich begrenzt auch Cola, Limo und Sprudelwasser in Flaschen serviert zu bekommen. - Apfelsaft war Wasser gemischt mit Quench. Echter Apfelsaft für die Kinder zu jeder Tageszeit wäre schön, um Zuckerschocks vermeiden zu können... - Mehr spanische Produkte im Kiosk, wie bspw. 100% Spain Puppen oder Buffs aus Barcelona Was wir uns vom Hotelmanagement absolut gewünscht hätten: - Bitte weist eure Gäste beim Einchecken auf die EXTREM hohen UV Werte hin! Wir hatten Anfang April UV Werte am Morgen von 8 und die kletterten rauf bis 11! Im Sommer haben wir in Deutschland meist 5 und dies ist auch der Wert, den wir im April in Gran Canaria erwartet hätten. Checken Sie als Gast also nicht nur täglich das Wetter, sondern auch die UV Werte! Im großen und ganzen hatten wir einen schönen Aufenthalt im Riu Vistamar und werden das Hotel Freunden und Bekannten weiterempfehlen. We are not really ones to write reviews but this hotel and ALL the staff here certainly deserve one! We are on our last day here and what a fantastic week away we’ve had. I cannot fault a single thing about this hotel. The rooms are lovely and kept superbly clean at all times so big thank you to the cleaners. The pool is gorgeous and as I’m sat here the life guard is cleaning all the sun loungers. He keeps the pool area spotless at all time so huge thanks go to him too! The breakfast is great, you couldn’t ask for anything more. Bacon, sausages, eggs, beans, hash browns through to cereals, cold meats and cheese. Coffee and juice great too. The lovely ladies in the restaurant are very attentive and always there with a smile. Big thanks to them too. The only thing you need to be aware of is the steps…they are a killer. All 176 of them. They are fine going down but coming up is not for the faint hearted. However, you can get a cab back from town easily enough which costs around 4 euros. The hotel is central to both the beach which has some lovely restaurants and the commercial centre in the other direction which is full of shops, bars and restaurants. If you are considering this hotel then my advice would be, just book it!!!

Amazing stay at the Terrezama apartments, we were on the second floor at the end ( sea view better from 6th floor) but we loved our room, very spacious and a huge sun filled balcony ( we had one with tiled floors). Free WiFi, Aircon and safe . Maybe a bit dated but cleaners kept it spotless ( daily apart from Sunday and wed)..The water in the fridge and the bottle of wine a great touch 🍷. We'd paid for breakfast to be included, good value for the money, not amazing, but such friendly, helpful staff ... The lifts to get up to it another story ( 2nd to 6th floor...then across the rd to sun suites..then their lift to 0 to 6th floor....then another to 6th to 11th floor ..but we made it ) But it was literally a flight of steps down out the back gate and we were in the middle of everything, fabulous 😍..huge Spar shop, Commercial Center and Mogan Mall . The pools at the hotel were lovely with no sunbed wars, we used the one on 6th floor, the bar and staff fabulous... food was really good and really good prices..but a special mention to Cynthia's Long Island iced teas ... wow!! There is also a little shop, bakery ( great warm chicken baguette) and bar across the rd in sun suites reception, We were able to Keep our room on €30 on last day as had on late flight another tick for the hotel. Overall a brilliant holiday, the apartments are a little dated and shabby but spotlessly clean, the staff and position are amazing...thank you ☺️
