    Track flooding and bridge damage disrupts routes between Liskeard and Looe

    Zugehörige Informationen:The line between Liskeard and Looe remains closed following a period of recent heavy rain which flooded the track. The water levels have now dropped and Network Rail have been able to inspect the bridge structures. The results of the investigation have confirmed some damage that will require repair work. This will need to be carried out before the line can be reopened and trains are able to run again. No trains will operate between Liskeard and Looe until at least the end of the day Friday 23 January. Rail replacement transport will run as stated below. Please note, there is no Sunday service on this route. Customer advice: Replacement minibuses will operate at train departure times from Liskeard and Looe. The designated stops for the replacement road transport are as follows: Liskeard - at the front of the station. Sandplace - bus stops by the station entrance. Looe - at the front of the station. If you are travelling to / from Coombe Junction Halt, St Keyne Wishing Well Halt or Causeland please call Great Western Railway customer services on 0345 700 0125, or use the station help point for taxis to be arranged. Additionally, you may use your ticket on Transport for Cornwall bus route 73 between Liskeard and Looe at no extra cost. Additional information: Once the water levels drop again, repair work will be able to begin, and we should then be able to give a more accurate date for the line reopening. Currently we do not expect to run trains until Friday 23 January at the earliest.

    Storm Goretti disrupts routes between Par and Newquay

    Zugehörige Informationen:Following severe weather brought by Storm Goretti, the line between Par and Newquay remains closed. Services between these stations are unable to run and have been cancelled. Disruption is expected until the end of the day. Customer advice: Rail replacement coaches will operate between St Austell and Newquay. These will operate to mirror the train service, but may suffer from delays due to the additional running time taken on road. You may use your ticket, at no extra cost on Transport for Cornwall routes 21 and 21A between St Austell (station), St Columb Road (Co-op), Quintrell Downs (Quintrell Close) and Newquay (bus station). You will be able to use any tickets from Thursday 8 January at no additional cost on Great Western Railway services up to and including today, Tuesday 13 January. Alternatively, if you are unable to travel, you can claim a free refund for your tickets. Additional information: Storm Goretti hit the UK which brought strong winds to South West England. This has damaged signalling systems and resulted in a number of fallen trees.

    Road vehicle on railway impacts routes between Rye and Ashford International

As a result, trains are unable to run between Rye and Ashford International and will be revised to run between Eastbourne and Rye only. This is expected until approximately 12:00. Services are unable to run between Rye and Ashford until at least 12:00 today, which means no services will be stopping at Appledore or Ham Street. At Rye you will need to use a rail replacement bus to continue your journey. This will take 60 minutes to reach Ashford International, so please allow at least an additional 35 minutes to reach your destination. Buses will also run between Ashford International and Rye. Please check the station boards or speak to station staff for further advice at these stations. Ticket acceptance: You can use your existing ticket at no additional cost on the below services: Southern and Thameslink on any reasonable route. Southeastern services between Hastings / Ashford International and London. Stagecoach Buses 511, 511a and 511b between Ham Street and Ashford International. Rail replacement buses: Rail replacement buses will run between Rye and Ashford International, in both directions. These buses are in journey planners, and will run as follows: Ashford International will have departures at **:45 minutes past the hour, arriving at Rye at approximately **:33 minutes past the hour. The first bus will leave at 05:45. Rye will have departures at **:55 minutes past the hour, arriving at Ashford International at approximately **:43 minutes past the hour. Can you tell me more about the incident? There is a vehicle on the railway in the Rye / Ham Street area. Until it is removed, train operators are unable to run any trains on that route. Emergency services and Network Rail staff are on site working to clear the railway for train running.

Points failures in the London Victoria and West Croydon areas are affecting services between these stations. Points are movable sections of track that guide trains onto different routes at junctions. If they develop a fault due to obstructions, electronic failures or other issues, trains cannot safely pass. Network Rail are sending teams to investigate. To work safely, they may need to stop trains, which could delay services. Once on-site, they'll diagnose the fault and look for a quick fix. Some repairs may take longer if replacement parts or expert advice are needed.

Long distance services are unaffected. Great Western Railway are sourcing a replacement train in order to restore a full service. Replacement buses have been requested.
