My wife and I visited Catalina Island for our 28th anniversary — our first time back since before we were married in 1997. We chose the Catalina Canyon Inn specifically for the pool, jacuzzi, on-site restaurant, and shuttle service. Their website is very nice and seemed like a perfect match for the occasion. Unfortunately, very little matched what was advertised. Shuttle: The shuttle was not waiting at the Catalina Express port when we arrived on the last ferry Saturday evening which was unexpected. Four of us were left waiting in the dark for about 20 minutes until the other couple called the hotel. The driver was friendly and apologized, but this set the tone for the weekend. The shuttle was consistently unreliable throughout our stay. They tell you to call the driver directly, but he often didn't answer. You'd end up having to call the hotel instead, and the shuttle only seemed to come after someone went inside and told the front desk in person. At one point we waited 45 minutes. Some guests got frustrated and just decided to walk, but the hotel sits at the top of a steep hill — not a realistic option, especially for older guests like us. Their website suggests the shuttle runs regularly, but that was far from our experience. Restaurant: We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 PM Saturday and were turned away, even though their website says they're open until 8:00 PM. We had to rush down the hill to find dinner to-go in town before the shuttle stopped running at 8:45. It was a shame we didn't even have time to stay and eat on our anniversary or face having to trek up that hill. The next morning I mentioned this to the restaurant owner, who insisted they closed at 8:00 and that she was there. She then told us the restaurant closes at 2:00 PM on Sundays — so dinner there that night wasn't an option either. She was very friendly though I must say. On Monday we finally had breakfast before checkout. The food was mediocre and didn't match the glowing reviews at all. The prices were also odd — $12 for mozzarella sticks, $20 for nachos, but only $11 for pulled pork sliders, which you'd expect to be the pricier item. The pricing just didn't add up. While we were there, another couple was turned away at 1:30 PM because the restaurant closes from 2–4 on Mondays. We could feel their frustration. Jacuzzi: The jacuzzi we were looking forward to was covered up and converted into a gazebo with chairs. At first we couldn't find it but yea. No mention of this on the website. Room issues: The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. The front desk told us we can mention it to housekeeping, who didn't come until after 5:00 PM. We got the soap and a couple fresh towels. The towels themselves were thin and didn't dry well overnight so fresh ones were sorely needed to get at least one shower in with soap before we had to leave the next day. The TV didn't work at all, and the microwave was unplugged — though I was able to fix that myself. The hotel also doesn't offer complimentary coffee, which is standard at most hotels we've stayed at for half the price. The good: The staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable, the A/C worked well, and the balcony was a nice touch. The room was quiet. Bottom line: The website gives a very different impression than what you actually get. Between the unreliable shuttle, limited and unpredictable restaurant hours, missing amenities, thin towels, and no coffee, this was not the anniversary experience we hoped for. I'd recommend staying somewhere closer to downtown so you're not dependent on a shuttle and stuck with limited options. I think we need to redo our anniversary. It was a miss for sure.

Ideal hotel for 1 night stay before flight. Near airport, big room with balcony and view. Room clean. Near hotel bus stop for airport bus, easy to go to airport even at night. What can be better - restaurant and bar closed, so if you need food or drink need to go far away.

Dieses Hotel fühlt sich sehr gut an, die Aufteilung und Einrichtungen des Hotels sind sehr stimmungsvoll, der Service ist sehr gut, die Umgebung ist auch gut, Supermärkte, Restaurants und Transportmittel sind sehr praktisch.

Die Service und Einrichtungen waren sehr zufriedenstellend. Es gab einen kleinen Schwimmbad draußen, ich erinnere mich, dass die Mahlzeiten nicht getrennt geliefert wurden. Es war jedoch zugänglich, weil Walmart, In-n-Out, TacoBell, McDonald's usw. rund um die Stadt waren.

Wir waren mit unseren Kindern für eine Woche dort. Das Hotel bot freundlichen Service und zeitnahe Unterstützung bei individuellen Wünschen. Wir konnten uns das Frühstück selbst zusammenstellen. Die umliegenden Einkaufs- und Gastronomiebereiche sind fußläufig erreichbar und die Verkehrsanbindung ist gut.

Ich habe drei Tage in diesem Hotel verbracht. Es liegt sehr nah am Flughafen und ist ideal für die Anfahrt zur Autovermietung. Auch Essen und Tanken sind bequem zu erreichen. Es gibt einen großen, kostenlosen Parkplatz. Der Service an der Rezeption war ausgezeichnet und das Buffetrestaurant bot eine große Auswahl. Das Frühstück war eher dürftig – es gab kein Gemüse und die Milch war kalt. Heißes Wasser und Kaffee waren jedoch vorhanden. Vor der Lobby befindet sich ein kleiner, schöner und gemütlicher Innenhof. Ein Fitnessstudio ist ebenfalls in der Nähe. Einziger Nachteil: Die Zimmer waren etwas klein und eng. Die Ausstattung war jedoch vollständig und die Sauberkeit gut.

Wir waren für 7 Nächte im Hotel und waren mit dem geräumigen Zimmer und allen Annehmlichkeiten des Hotels zufrieden. Allerdings sind wir vom Management bezüglich der Haushaltsführung enttäuscht. Während unseres 7-tägigen Aufenthalts wird nur EINMAL ein Zimmerreinigungsservice angeboten. Nachdem ich mehrfach beim Schalter nachgefragt hatte, sagten sie, sie würden die Zimmerreinigung am Tag veranlassen, aber das taten sie nicht. Ich hoffe, dass das Management dieses Problem beheben kann.

Sehr gute Lage, bequemer Transport In der Nähe von 2 U-Bahn-Linien Beim Auschecken fällt jedoch eine Kaution von 6 $ pro Gepäckstück an. Das ist das erste Mal, dass ich so etwas in einem Hotel erlebt habe. Aber ich musste bezahlen, weil ich vor der Fahrt zum Flughafen noch einen Spaziergang machen wollte.

Location is very close to Disneyland which is perfect, about 7-10 minute walk. It is hard to see the actual hotel because of the surrounding tall buildings but the small entrance is right next to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. We are a family of 6 with 16,7,8 and 3 year old kids. We were given a corner room, 2 queen bed suite. Room location is not ideal, we have a view of the hotel’s HVAC system. I think the suite is quite small but it does not matter to us since we didn’t book to stay at the hotel but to spend in Disneyland. I have one complaint about the room: the charging station (one) by the night stand was not working, as well as the reading light on one of the beds. This is personally important to me as I need to charge my phone at the end of the day and I need it close to my bed for easy access. The bathroom is clean. Spacious stand in shower. Great water pressure and temperature. Spacious bathroom vanity with large LED mirror. Towels are enough. Toiletries are complete. Room kitchen is complete with a spacious fridge. Room sofa is ok, not the most comfortable but it is not a deal breaker for me. The sofa can turn into a bed but we didn’t use it. One large tv in the living area and one large tv in the bedroom. I think the closet size is decent, has limited number of hangers. Hotel lobby and dining area is clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly, courteous and professional. Free buffet breakfast when I booked, it was good- depending on the day, they offered scrambled eggs, sausage, Canadian bacon, tater tots, fried potatoes, grapes and honeydew, different flavored yogurt, make-your-own-Mickey-waffles, bagels. They have all the condiments and all kinds of drinks. You can order food from your room from outside places (room service) but the choices are limited and of course more expensive; we used DoorDash instead as the price is about the same, if not, cheaper and the choices are endless and it was delivered right to our room anyway. Check in and check out process is quick and smooth. I’d say our stay was comfortable and enjoyable for the most part!
