Das Zimmer war klein, aber sauber und ordentlich. Die Bettdecke war groß und bequem, und das Warmwasser war ausgezeichnet. Das Nationalmuseum, das Planetarium, die Plaza Bolivar und das Goldmuseum sind alle zu Fuß erreichbar, was das Hotel zu einem idealen Ziel für einen Tagesausflug macht. Etwas enttäuscht war ich über das Fehlen einer Kaffeemaschine oder eines Wasserkochers, sodass ich unten Kaffee kaufen musste.

I really wanted to like this place. I specifically chose it because of its location in La candelaria close to everything and because of it's historical significance as a colonial house with unique decorations and furniture. And that aspect was fine. What was not fine were the rooms. I was first taken to room 19, the last room on the second floor which has a large balcony opening that looks over the courtyard. The problem is that the door does not seal tightly and the weather was quite cold, rainy and damp. The room was freezing and so I asked for a room heater which was inefficient because it did not radiate any heat it just simply warmed up. In addition to that, apparently there was a pigeon nest on the other side of the wall and I can hear them cooing, moving, scratching and chirping. When I brought this to the attention of the receptionist, she told me about Las Palomas and assured me that they would not make noise at night. I was extremely uncomfortable and freezing cold the entire night and the next day I spoke to the clerk and asked that my room be moved. He agreed and told me to come back at 3:00 p.m. that afternoon. I came back at 5:00 and was told by another woman that it would not be possible for my room to be moved and after I explained the situation she brought me to room 18 right next door. It seemed fine and I agreed to stay there. It rained overnight and when I woke up in the morning the nightstand next to the bed was soaking wet. The roof had leaked onto the nightstand.. Thank goodness my phone was not there. In addition there was a light outside the door that kept blinking on and off and was very disturbing. At that point I asked for my room to be changed again and I was brought downstairs a very nice large room, which they called a suite, although it was really just one large room. That room was warmer and much more comfortable. I stayed there another two nights. Meals were taken outside with a plexiglass covering to shield against the rain. It was very cold outside and as mentioned before the weather was damp and rainy. The food was homemade which was nice, but it was the same menu every day. I specifically wanted to mention Erika. She was very sweet and did whatever she could to accommodate me, but the house is really in need of maintenance, and because of that I would not come here again unfortunately. It has great potential but the weather in Bogota is cold and damp and leaking roofs and drafty windows do not make for a comfortable stay.

The location in Candelaria district is perfect, they provide a relatively good breakfast and have a daily room service. That’s all on the good side. There is a lot on the bad side. My room was on the first floor (meaning the second after “planta baja”, so both windows look at atrium where the hotel cafe is, so you hear whatever is happening in the cafe and reception all the time 24/7 and that means talks, piano, calls…there is no sound proofing at all. That’s not all, you also smell whatever they cook in the kitchen and I guess they are not enforcing because in my bathroom I kept smelling tabaco smoke as if I am in packed smoking room in the airport. Also the room probably was nicely furnished 20 years ago but it is all worn out completely, things are virtually falling apart. Seriously..I had plank if the vanity falling when tried to place towel on the hanger and if you seat in the armchair you just sink into it so old and worn out it is. Because of the position of the bed, the cabinet door cannot be opened. There is no kettle, iron, or ironing board in the room. To sum up, the hotel might be an option if you are here for a short stay and it is offered cheap (as it was in my case) but I strongly recommend against staying there longer.

Auch ein Einkaufszentrum ist nur wenige Meter entfernt. Ich blieb am Mittwoch, so dass es nicht viel Musik gab, aber ich kann sehen, wie es ganz laut in den Wochenenden sein kann, da es viele Clubs in der Nähe. Das Frühstück war gut und das Zimmer war ok. Ich muss sagen, dass dieses Hotel sich eher wie ein Motel oder ein Bett und Frühstück fühlt, da es sehr grundlegende ist. Keine Dekorationen oder irgendwelche Wohnbereiche, die einladen, so ist es gut nur für eine Nacht oder zwei, aber nicht für einen Urlaub. Es gibt keinen Aufzug und keine Männer, die Ihre Gepäck tragen können, so hat meine Mutter meine Tasche bis zum dritten Stock und der Empfänger und ich habe das große Gepäck bis zum Zimmer. Der Wasserdruck ist groß und das Hotel hat heißes Wasser. Es gibt auch Satellitenfernsehen mit Optionen in Englisch und Spanisch. Ich habe keine Ahnung, ob das Hotelpersonal Englisch spricht oder nicht, wie ich Spanisch spreche. Insgesamt war es gut, weil der Bereich sicher ist und in der Nähe der meisten Orte, die ich wollte gehen wie Monserrate.

Das Zimmer war geräumig. Unten gibt es einen Supermarkt und ein Stück die Straße runter noch einen, wo ich Kaffee gekauft habe. Die Gegend fühlt sich 7/10 sicher an. Die Gepäckaufbewahrung ist nur bis 17 oder 18 Uhr möglich und nicht darüber hinaus, was etwas umständlich ist. Außerdem befindet sie sich auf einer anderen Etage. WhatsApp scheint eine KI-Antwort zu sein.

Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe der Universität, an der Kreuzung von Altstadt und Neustadt. Der Transport ist bequem, es gibt BRT, unten im Hotel gibt es ein Café und nicht weit gegenüber gibt es eine Internet-Promi-Eisdiele. Die Zimmer bieten eine tolle Aussicht und moderne Einrichtungen. Das Zimmer ist nicht groß. Allerdings fühlt sich die Umgebung rund um das Hotel unsicher an und es gibt viele Obdachlose. Es gibt viele Bettler. Da war ein Bettler, der mir bis zum Café nach unten folgte und mich um Geld bat!

Ich war immer sehr gut in diesem Hotel, alle waren so nett und respektvoll bis heute 3. It is located at Chapinero neighborhood not far from downtown, there are many restaurants, bars, coffees and discos at a walking distance. The staff are warm and accommodating, always ready to assist with a smile. The hotel has all the basic amenities such a rosy wash, shampoo, hair dryer, towels and breakfast included. The breakfast should be ordered ten minutes in advance for them to prepare and bring to your table. Everyday there is a different set breakfast that it is good considering the low cost of this hotel. It is definitely a good value for money.

Amazing new studio, with excellent design and quality minimalistic furniture. Has everything one could feel in comfort - including a kitchenette and a washing machine, which I didn't need for my short stay, but for a longer stay would be great. Nice minimalistic bathroom with all that matters (a big shower head and nice toiletries). Modern lighting and controls, more than enough plugs around the room, great wifi too. Super comfortable bed, everything is sparkling clean (and quite new). This area of Bogota is very nice, clean and close to a park, not too crowded either. The only thing I didn't like was the slow check in and the little extra bureaucracy there, but I guess it's the government that sets those rules and the owners just need to follow them.
