Ich verbrachte ein Wochenende in Suzhou zwischen zwei Fabrikbesuchen. Ich suchte eine Unterkunft im touristischen Zentrum von Gusu Yard. Das DongHuaLi Hotel gefiel mir auf Anhieb und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Es liegt nur einen kurzen Spaziergang (200 Meter) von der Straße entfernt, direkt auf der anderen Seite des Kanals, fernab der Touristenmassen auf der Pingjiang Lu. Vom Hotel aus merkt man davon nichts, da es angenehm ruhig ist. Man kann das Gebiet auch verlassen, ohne auf die Touristen zu treffen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Ich hatte ein Zimmer mit Balkon im dritten Stock. Klein, aber fein. Die Wäschemöglichkeiten waren gut. Der Frühstücksbereich/die Rezeption im Erdgeschoss war sauber und hell. Ich hatte zwar Frühstück gebucht, bin aber nie früh genug aufgestanden, um es zu probieren. Ich würde definitiv wieder hier übernachten. Ein wirklich schönes Hotel.

There’s also a temple nearby, approximately 20 minutes away by car. **Challenges We Faced** My daughter developed a fever and experienced diarrhea during our stay. When I called the front desk for help, the staff member wasn’t very accommodating and suggested my husband go buy medicine. This was difficult for us as foreigners who don’t speak the language well. I felt sad and helpless, especially when we couldn’t get any taxis or cabs to pick us up. We wanted to take her to the hospital, but no cabs were available. However, the next morning, a staff member spoke with me who was extremely kind and accommodating. They even offered to drive my daughter to the hospital, which I declined because we needed to catch our train and she was feeling better after taking medicine. They drove us to the South Railway Station and thoughtfully gave my daughter bags and drinks. It was a very kind gesture that we truly appreciated.

1st time here. All i can say is, getting the food here is so convenient. Many good and tasty food around this place. As for the room, neat and clean. As for the value, the room extension is considered at a highside. Other than this, nice place to stay. Will come again.

The lobby is well heated. A coffee machine is found in the lobby. This is the only hotel that provides one in the lobby of the seven hotels that we stayed in. The coffee machine offers only espresso and americano. On arrival, we opted to push our luggage on the ram so as to avoid lifting them while walking up the steps. But the entrance of the ram was blocked by e-scooters etc. We complaint to the front office staff and the problem was later rectified. We were handed tooth brush by the front office staff upon check-in. Only 1 key card was given. Most hotels give 2. There are storage compartments for luggage available. But you have to do it yourself via some apps. Guests should not have to do this themselves. Service ranges from average to poor. Universal socket is not provided in the room. Plastic bags are not provided with the rubbish bins. Unhygienic! Refrigerator is cold. There’s both air-conditioning and heating. Therefore, guests have a choice. Auto-door closer is not installed for the room door. So we had to make sure that our door is locked when we leave the room. Only a box of tissues was provided. Most hotels provide 2. Toothbrush, shower cap, comb, hand towel etc was not replenished in the following day. Consequently, we wrote a list of the items and things that we needed done and place it on the bed for the room attendant to carry out. We normally switch off all the lights in the room when we sleep. We only have the shower cubicle and toilet lights on. This can’t be done. We have to choose between all lights off or some lights on in the room as well. Consequently, we didn’t sleep well for five nights. Range and quality of food is poor. Quantity is small. Milk and yogurt are dispensed from machines. Restaurant is heated. Knife is not offered. I wanted one to spread the butter on the toast. However, forks are provided! I had to switch on the toaster myself. I didn’t know how and a staff showed me. Then the staff asked me to switch it off after use. This is my first encounter with such a ridiculous breakfast situation! It is not my responsibility to switch off the toaster after use! Service is poor. There are moments when the entire restaurant is void of service staff. They are either in the kitchen or dish-washing area. There’s only one coffee machine and when it runs out of milk etc, one has to wait for a few minutes. This is below our expectations. Brown sugar is not offered. Butter was placed, in the same basket, with the jam. There were so few that I missed it. It’s strange for breakfast table to have partitions especially after covid.

Everything is good, have to stay one day instead of five days as have to hotel due to the TV unable to cast mobile screen. Such a waste as it is so comfortable to stay. The counter staff was so welcoming and she is very professional and friendly. I didn’t manage to get her name But she help me with my parcels and help us to bring up my food delivery. She is sweet and have a very soft voice that makes people feel welcome. Would like to stay here again hope they upgrade the TV for more amenities.

I highly recommend this hotel! I stayed during the time that there was ongoing construction so it was abit noisy and hard to navigate the front desk (have to go up to a certain level then change elevator) but i still enjoyed my stay here :) The location was good - It is walking distance to malls like nanjing deji plaza with the famous expensive toilet and luxury stores and easy to get around with taxi. The room was vibrant and the design makes you feel happy in a sense and EVERYTHING is oranges! Even the toothpaste was orange flavoured which was an experience for me XD
