可以说是纽约最为代表性的一条购物街，也备受游客的欢迎，是纽约旅游必须打卡的一处购物街区，在19世纪前，第五大道还是一处空旷的农地，后经扩建修建，各式住宅和高级商场再次建成，逐渐成为了今天满是摩天大楼，越夜越热闹，纽约夜晚最热闹的一条街。而在第五大道上，也有各式的经典建筑，帝国大厦、洛克菲勒中心、纽约公共图书馆都在沿途。
