This place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

Wer schon einmal hier übernachtet hat, wird das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis des Hotels zweifellos zu schätzen wissen. Wie man es von einem traditionsreichen Luxushotel erwartet, ist die Lage unübertroffen. Die Zimmer sind unglaublich geräumig, und alle Zimmer ab einer bestimmten Etage bieten einen unverbauten Ausblick. Das Hotel liegt direkt an der Zhongshan Road, sodass ich bei einem Spaziergang auch den Nanputuo-Tempel erreichen konnte. Da es sich um ein so bekanntes Hotel handelt, lässt es sich leicht beschreiben. Die Zimmer waren makellos gepflegt. Alle Annehmlichkeiten wurden täglich aufgefüllt, und der Reinigungsservice war tadellos. Die Einrichtung war luxuriös, und die Betten waren komfortabel. Das WLAN war nicht optimal, und nur wenige Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption sprachen Englisch. Von der Zhonghua City und der Zhongshan Road, die sich direkt gegenüber befindet, ist alles bequem zu erreichen!

Zuallererst möchte ich Xiaoyu, die Hotelbutlerin, loben. Sie war unglaublich zuvorkommend und bot einen außergewöhnlichen Service – ganz anders als viele andere Hotelbutler, die eher wie Dekoration wirken. Da mein Mann und ich beide hitzeempfindlich sind, fragte ich zunächst nur, ob die Klimaanlage eingeschaltet werden könnte. Doch sie organisierte proaktiv ein Upgrade auf ein größeres, kühleres Zimmer und ließ sogar eine Reinigungskraft einen Luftkühler bringen. Diese Aufmerksamkeit und Rücksichtnahme auf unsere Gäste hat mich überzeugt, dass das Hilton Fuzhou meine erste Wahl für zukünftige Aufenthalte sein wird. Das Zimmer war hell und sehr sauber. Die Lage ist hervorragend, mit guter Verkehrsanbindung, und das Zimmer war komfortabel und hygienisch. Das Hotelfrühstück bot eine große Auswahl an köstlichen Speisen. Die Lage ist ebenfalls großartig, in der Nähe von Sehenswürdigkeiten, sodass man die Umgebung bequem erkunden kann. Insgesamt war es ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt.

Die Lage ist in Ordnung, aber die meisten der nahegelegenen Straßen mit ihren Imbissständen sind geschlossen und schlecht besucht. Die Toilette riecht stark nach Abwasser oder dem Abflussrohr aus dem Duschraum. Das Nachbarzimmer ist laut, da die Tür ständig geöffnet und geschlossen wird. Die Schalldämmung ist miserabel und sehr störend. Das Frühstück ist mittelmäßig; es gibt weder warme Suppe noch Nudeln, also ist es praktisch wertlos. Man bekommt nur einen Zimmerschlüssel, vermutlich um Strom zu sparen, was unpraktisch ist; es ist immer dunkel, wenn man das Zimmer betritt. Beim Einchecken wird eine Kaution fällig, und man muss auf die Auscheckzeit achten, wahrscheinlich um die Gebühren leichter abbuchen zu können. Ich verstehe nicht, wie diese Bewertung in Xiamen zustande gekommen ist; das Hotel ist nicht einmal vier Sterne wert.

Grand Honor Hotel is definitely the best hotel in Shishi, but it’s not quite the same level as a luxury hotel in a bigger city. Generally the hotel is clean, but it’s the little things that I noticed, ie when I checked in, there were some sweet wrappers next to the bowl of sweets that weren’t cleared away. That said, the sense of space is evident in the hotel lobby, lifts, corridors and most importantly, the hotel rooms. Rooms are very spacious and well-designed, although the closet area can definitely do with brighter lights. Most amenities are provided but what put me off is that many items that would have been free in other hotels at this price-range aren’t free at Grand Honor. There is a Chinese tea set on the table and usually the loose leaf tea is provided for free but it cost ¥15 per packet. Honestly it’s not a lot of money for us, but on the flip side, surely the hotel can provide a bag of tea leaves for their guests. There are the standard free single-use packet tea in the drawer so at least there’s that. In-room slippers are not to be taken out; they’d charge you if you do - and that’s fine, but the slippers are actually really uncomfortable to wear. The small plate of fruits (banana, plum and mandarin) given at 5pm every day is a nice touch. The hotel breakfast is probably the highlight. Set on the 22nd floor with panoramic views of the city, breakfast is very enjoyable. The food quality is pretty good, but a real surprise here is the sheer diversity of food. The bread selection alone has 5-6 choices (pastries, brioche, baguette, square toast, etc), the cooked food section is almost endless (and there’s cooked Chinese vegetables! 👏🏾) and then there’s the fruit selection at the end too. My only gripe is that the coffee machine is a bit slow, and there’s only one machine so there can be a wait for coffee. Location of the hotel is a little odd; good restaurants and the main mall is about 15 mins’ walk away. There aren’t many good shops to wander around nearby. Generally, this is a solid hotel for this price point. Excellent service with very fast food delivery (using the ubiquitous delivery robots) and friendly front desk staff.

Das ruhige Schatzhotel in der Wüste! Die Umgebung ist gut, die Halle ist hoch entwickelt, das Zimmerdesign ist einfach und gross und das Licht und die Sicht sind großartig. Der Wäscheschrank ist sauber und durchgängig, die Einrichtungen sind komplett, die Sound-Effizienz ist großartig. Schließen des Fensters ist ein einzigartiger ruhiger Himmel und Erde. Der Rezeption-Kleinchenservice ist warm, ohne Störung, aber es muss gefragt werden, komfortabel und angemessen zu leben, insbesondere die große Frühstücksbrot-Sister ist sehr enthusiastisch und enthusiastisch ❤️ Qualitätsgefühl voll.

Das größte Merkmal des Wanjia Hotels ist die große Badewanne, die Platz für zwei Personen bietet. In Xiamen ist es wahrscheinlich schwierig, eine so große Badewanne zu finden! Die Hotelumgebung ist ruhig, das Frühstück ist ok und der Service ist auf Abruf! Neben dem Hotel befindet sich eine U-Bahn-Station und die Transportmöglichkeiten sind bequem. Wenn Sie bis spät in die Nacht Snacks essen möchten, gibt es gegenüber einen großen Caitang-Imbissstand, der sehr kostengünstig ist!

A little Oasis so near yet so far from the city! Right next to the Xiamen university main gate and walking distance to the sea and the so-called 'twin towers '. Ok the good news - large lovely bedrooms, good toilet, large bathtub and good large shower. All water pressure is good and plenty of hot water. Beautiful garden area off the lower level - private and lovely and green. Nice sunshine coming in. Now the less good - strange overall decor and setup - for example - the sitting area as you enter the place is rather spartan and sparse - only one couch (not comfortable) and one table, it could be better furnished and a lot more homey and welcoming. There is no fridge. There is no wardrobe to hang clothes downstairs. When they service the room daily they don't really make up the bed. The beds are large and comfortable with good linen and pillows.The location is great but uphill and long hard climb to walk and difficult for taxis to find and to travel on crowded single street. There are many steps on the property and no elevator or ramps so difficult for accessibility. The breakfast is limited mostly a simple Chinese food. Ordering coffee ☕ is a bit challenging in English and they are not really experts at coffee. No real food menu on site. There is no English at the reception or in the compound so you need translator service. The televisions (there are three !!) in the duplex have only Chinese channels. Despite this - we loved the place and will stay here again !! Highly recommend - just understand that it is not perfect but really quite good.

Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, auch vor meiner Ankunft. Sie versuchten mich im Voraus zu kontaktieren, aber als ausländischer Gast habe ich keine chinesische Telefonnummer. Es wäre günstiger, wenn das Hotel für Gäste’ WeChat IDs durch den Trip.com Messenger stattdessen anfragen könnte. Nach der Ankunft hat das Personal eine WeChat-Gruppe geschaffen und mich hinzugefügt, was sich als sehr hilfreich erwiesen hat. Durch die Gruppe haben sie mit allen Fragen unterstützt, wie zum Beispiel empfohlene Orte zu besuchen, wie ein E-Bike zu mieten und wo zu essen in der Nähe. Reaktion und Service waren ausgezeichnet. Das Zimmer war awesome sehr sauber, geräumig und komfortabel. Das Bett war besonders komfortabel, und die Aussicht war fantastisch. Ich liebe auch wirklich den Projektor-Bildschirm im Zimmer, was mir erlaubte, WeTV-Shows und andere Inhalte zu beobachten. Es machte die Entspannung im Zimmer noch behaglicher. Das Hotel bietet E-Bike-Vermietung, die eine große Funktion ist. Ich war jedoch persönlich für das Wetter untergeschirmt. Es regnete den Vortag und der ganze Tag war bewölkt mit Temperaturen von etwa 11°C. Die Meeresbrise war sehr stark und kalt, vor allem, wenn das E-Bike mit dem Wind direkt auf Sie fahren. Das Hotel braucht unter solchen Bedingungen eine richtige Winterausstattung. Wenn das Hotel Handschuhe und Jackenvermietung bieten könnte, wäre dies eine erstaunliche Verbesserung. Am Abend brachte das Personal sogar ein kleines Geschenk ins Zimmer. Das Geschenk war bedenklich und praktisch, und ich mag es wirklich es war eine warme und willkommene Geste, die den Aufenthalt zu fühlen extra besondere. Frühstück war ok. Gäste sind auf Ebene 2 sitzen und das Essen wird zum Tisch serviert. Da ich aus einem Ort komme, wo einige Chinesen kein Rindfleisch essen, wäre es großartig, wenn es Optionen wie Hühner oder Rindfleisch gab. Das sagte, die Rindfleischnudeln waren eigentlich sehr gut. Das westliche Frühstück war jedoch ziemlich durchschnittlich.

Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe des Xiamen Software Parks, ganz in der Nähe von Baolong One City und bietet eine hervorragende Verkehrsanbindung. Im Erdgeschoss befinden sich ein Pupu-Supermarkt und eine Einkaufsstraße. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig und bietet eine große Auswahl an Speisen. Nachts ist es sehr ruhig, sodass man ungestört schlafen kann. Der Softwarepark liegt direkt nebenan und ist daher gut mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu erreichen.
