Dieses Hotel lag etwas abseits vom öffentlichen Nahverkehr. Es befand sich in einer Seitenstraße und war daher leicht zu finden. Mein Zimmer bot Blick auf das Opernhaus, was interessant war, da man die Leute dort beobachten konnte. Die Lage war super, viele Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurants waren bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Überraschenderweise war der Frühstücksbereich gut organisiert und das Essen lecker. Ein- und Auschecken verliefen reibungslos. Einziger Nachteil: Es gab keinen Zimmerservice. Man konnte an der Rezeption nach neuen Handtüchern fragen. Das Zimmer hatte eine angemessene Größe. Der Duschboden könnte verbessert werden. Es war schwierig, zu duschen, ohne den Badezimmerboden nass zu machen. Insgesamt war es aber ein guter Aufenthalt.

For our stay, we booked a studio apartment at The Sweet. The room was lovely and kitchenette was well-equipped. We were able to cook meals there over the days of Christmas when most restaurants and shops were closed. The location is a little outside of the center- nice and quiet but easy to access public transit. My biggest issue with this hotel was that communication was very… odd. As the booking notes, I called the hotel in advance to schedule my check-in. When my call was answered, I told them who I was and that I was calling to schedule my check in (for a time when the booking said check in is available). I was told no one would be at reception at that time (3pm on Dec 23) and they would text me instructions for how to check myself in. Then she confirmed my phone number and asked for my email address, but when I started to give it, she said, “oh, that’s ok. We can’t use email anyway”. Odd. Before getting off the phone, I had her confirm that I would receive a text the next day with instructions to check in. Our train arrived around 2pm in Oslo and we still hadn’t received a text, so we waited at the train station thinking perhaps they would send the text right at 3pm since that was the time I had requested. At 3, I still hadn’t received anything, so we called the hotel again. A different employee answered from the one I had spoken to the day before. I gave my name and explained that I was calling because I had scheduled check in the day before but hadn’t received the information to check in. The employee asked where I was and told me that there were people staffing reception to help us check in, which I thought was odd because the previous employee told me no one would be there. When we got to the hotel, we rang the bell and got into the building, but reception is apparently in the basement- there is only a very tiny sign that says this- so we missed it and I called them again. A man came up with our keys and got us set to go. We got into our room and it was lovely! About 5 hours later, I got a call from Trip saying that the hotel is trying to contact me because they are wondering why I hadn’t checked in and they don’t have a way to get in touch with me. I was sitting in the hotel room when I got this call. I told the Trip representative that I was checked in and it was fine for her to give my phone and email to the hotel. I know the communication elements have taken up a huge portion of my review and I know they are not the end of the world, but I want to share them because I believe it would be quite simple to avoid situations like this in the future and make the guest experience that much more pleasant at The Sweet. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the hotel overall and thoroughly enjoyed exploring Oslo!

Location is convenient, about 10 mins walk from Oslo S. although it is in the direction nearer to the office buildings and away from the attractions. Breakfast spread is amazing and tastes good. Room and bathroom are spacious, bed is soft and comfortable. The only drawback is the amenities. There is no toothbrush provided, and I find the shampoo, conditioner, and hand wash a little too mild / diluted, would have preferred it to be thicker and foamier. Body soap is ok.

Die Lage ist praktisch, in der Nähe des Bahnhofs. Ich kam am ersten Tag früh am Morgen im Hotel an und es gab Personal, das mir beim Einchecken half, was ein sehr guter Service war. Zu den öffentlichen Einrichtungen gehören Warmwasser und Mikrowellen.

Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer gebucht, das mit zwei Einzelbetten und einem Schlafsofa ausgestattet war, aber leider keine besonders schöne Aussicht bot. Das Zimmer befand sich im ersten Stock, und das Fenster ging auf eine Stützmauer hinaus. Wer eine bessere Aussicht und einen schöneren Urlaub wünscht, kann ein Superior-Familienzimmer buchen. Dieses ist in Wirklichkeit größer, verfügt über zwei Einzelbetten und ein Etagenbett und bietet Blick auf eine Rasenfläche. Es ist etwas teurer, aber die skandinavische Qualität ist insgesamt sehr gut. Das Frühstück ist Standard. Direkt neben dem Hotel befindet sich ein Skigebiet, dessen höchster Punkt einen atemberaubenden Panoramablick auf Oslo bietet.

Die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und haben uns proaktiv beim frühen Einchecken unterstützt. Wenn Sie die Zimmertür von außen abschließen möchten, müssen Sie nach dem Umlegen des Riegels zwanzig Sekunden warten, bis sie richtig verriegelt ist.

Highly recommended. The hotel is part of an old post office, located right behind a bus stop, 100m from a tram stop and 500m from Oslo Central Station. There are restaurants just downstairs or nearby. The room is large enough and well-equipped, with a washing machine, a big drying rack, a microwave and all utensils. There is a public room for (self-service, super convenient, pretty large space) luggage storage facilities and all the necessites (tea packs, towels, linens, and ear plugs etc., though it is quiet at night) Everything is done on app, including check-in/out and opening the doors. However, the door-opening function in the app doesn't work sometimes so you have to use code instead (there's no reception). Also, you have to go through some stairs at entrance and a winding passage to reach your room. The room is a little bit dark at night (even with all the lights on) for reading and writing. The TV is located in a weird position.

Das Zimmer ist winzig. Das Badezimmer ist winzig. Die Sauberkeit ist ausgezeichnet. Das Hotel hat eine sehr kühle Atmosphäre, ganz im nordeuropäischen Stil: Menschlicher Kontakt findet nicht statt, und das Personal an der Rezeption lächelt nicht einmal; im Gegenteil, wenn man eine Frage stellt, reagieren sie genervt. Der Preis ist für das Gebotene sehr hoch, aber so ist Norwegen eben. Ein Urlaub in Südeuropa ist deutlich angenehmer, denn dort weiß man noch, was ein Lächeln bedeutet.

Die Lage des Hotels ist gut und praktisch. Die Zimmer sind zwar klein, aber einfach und sauber, was akzeptabel ist. Ich kam gut gelaunt an, da ich einen Tag früher in Oslo war, um meine Kreuzfahrt mit Silver Sea in die Arktis anzutreten. Beim Einchecken erwähnte ich ausdrücklich meine Kreuzfahrtbuchung für die folgende Nacht. Die Rezeptionistin fragte nach und sagte, man habe spezielle Vorkehrungen getroffen, damit ich das Zimmer nicht wechseln müsse, und ich könne einfach am nächsten Tag meinen Schlüssel verlängern. Ich war begeistert und fand den Service des Hotels sehr zuvorkommend. Als ich jedoch am nächsten Morgen zur Rezeption ging, um meinen Schlüssel abzuholen, wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass die Verlängerung meines Aufenthalts zusätzliche 500 Kronen kosten würde! Solche widersprüchlichen Aussagen des Hotelmanagements lassen vermuten, dass der Hotelservice dringend verbessert werden muss! Auch für meine Rückreise habe ich einen längeren Aufenthalt. Ich frage mich, ob das bedeutet, dass ich ein Zimmer-Upgrade benötige?! Ich bin sehr unzufrieden. Außerdem ist das Bett klein, und der Frühstückskoch war sehr unfreundlich.

Von Tsui Bay nach Oslo wieder zu bleiben, und das Frühstück am Wochenende bis 11:00 Uhr freundlich. Es ist auch ein Geschäftszimmer (1 großes Bett + 1 schwarzes Bett), dieses Mal wurde es auf 102 geplant, eine große Öffnung, und es ist ein Zimmer mit Kindern, die das letzte Mal lieber (335 Zimmer mit kleinen Zimmern). Natürlich ist der Service wie immer gut. Ich habe die Rezeption gefragt und endlich einen Fitnessraum im 7. Stock gefunden!
