This is the most beautiful old hotel in Leicester, and I have a strong sentimental attachment to it, but it clearly makes its money through hiring the glorious ballroom out for corporate events at the expense of anyone actually staying there.  I had asked for a quiet room but was placed at the front which is already noisy due to the busy street, and then was not warned that a ridiculously, horribly loud function was taking place right below me in the hotel. It was like trying to sleep above a particularly nasty nightclub playing diabolical music. There were drunken corporate goons falling in and out of the door and I was treated very disrespectfully by the receptionist when I finally went downstairs to complain near to midnight.  Guests are clearly not important. I strongly recommend calling before you book to see if this is going to happen on the dates you choose. I was in town for an extremely important job and arrived tired and late due to being kept awake for hours.

The accommodation was clean, the usual kettle, coffee and Tea was provided. Water was provided via a carefree ( flip open bottle with a stopper ). Not sure the tap water in the room was safe but the water supplied was good which was handy as you could not fill the kettle from the wash basin , which was small in size. My room had a walk in shower but it was in the shape of a quarter circle with the doors closing in the centre. If you were a large person getting in or out it was a squeeze. Towels, soap and shampoo provided but the satchels were difficult to open. Scissors or a sharp knife would be needed or very strong fingers lol. The bathroom was clean however there was an aroma maybe from the stench pipe but all in all it met my needs. Access was from a side door which you could unlock with the keys given to you when you book in at the bar. Be mindful all rooms are one floor up, the stairs are steep with one handrail so if you are disabled don't book here. Zowie was the lady in charge, polite, helpful and freindly but sadly the opening times of the bar are limited. Open from 12 midday to 10pm Mon to Friday and longer on Saturday and Sunday. They obviously do a good Sunday lunch as I arrived Sunday and the place was heaving with customers. Never got a chance to sample their cuisine , breakfast was in a cafe about 2 minutes walk away. I was out early and back late hence I did not eat there. Parking is free, but if you arrive Sunday the carpark will be full up with hungry customers. There was a housekeeper who would tidy the room, change the towels but the bedlinen is not changed daily. Overall the stay there was good however as there is no breakfast included it borders on being a little overpriced.

From the images and location this hotel looks stunning. Upon arriving it was quickly noticed that the hotel is in much need of an upgrade in every aspect. The decor is very dated, no locks on the toilets in reception, cloudy water from the taps, stale beer from the bar taps, cold shower ( staff tried to reset the boiler), dirty towels in the toilets Body wash and hand soap were the same, looked just like washing up liquid :/ Free continental breakfast was included which was ok, the cheese was sweaty and once the very small amount of pastries had gone, that was it, no refilling. Coffee ran out as did the cups. Avoid the sausages if you go for a cooked breakfast , I can only describe them as mushy The one thing that was pleasant other than the location, were the staff. They are extremely friendly, I hope the owner or someone can invest in this place. Has such potential to be beautiful but really was like something out of a comedy sketch

Von dem Spaziergang zum Hotel bis zum Check-in wurde ich von angenehmem und schönem Personal, hilfreich und glücklich begrüßt. Im Bar für einen schnellen Getränk vor dem Abflug zum Zimmer blieb und die Bar und das Restaurant war sauber, warm und einladend. Es war schön, dass es von anderen im Hotel zum Abendessen verwendet wird.  Der Aufzug war nicht arbeiten, aber die Treppen auf meinem Stock waren kein Problem, ich reiste Licht. Das Zimmer, das ich reservierte, war ein Doppelzimmer, das für die eine Nacht, die ich geblieben war, sauber und komfortabel war. Perfekte Lage am Bahnhof und genügend nahe den Geschäften und Bars in der Stadt selbst.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel and honestly couldn’t believe the value for money. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded expectations. The location is absolutely brilliant, close to everything you’d want, making it perfect for both exploring and relaxing without needing to travel far. The hotel itself was spotless. My room was clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable, which made a big difference after long days out. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into keeping the place in great condition. One of the highlights was the bar and restaurant. The atmosphere was welcoming, the food was excellent, and the drinks were just as good. It was so convenient having such a high-quality option right there in the hotel. Overall, this place offers incredible value. Great location, clean rooms, and top-notch food and drink, it really ticks all the boxes. I’d definitely stay here again and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable stay.

This hotel is very clean and quiet, good for sleeping. There are three supermarkets near the hotel, so It is very convenient for me to buy food for cooking, but only microwaves is provided, not any cooking utensils. Help desk is helpful.

A gem of a hotel, tucked away on the University Campus. Lovely furnishings, excellent food at reasonable prices, beautiful bar and restaurant. We’ll be using this one again.

Großes Hotel. Nahe der Autobahn war es günstig, aber ruhig. Die Spa-Anlagen waren ausgezeichnet. Das Dampfzimmer war sehr effizient, was in vielen Hotels nicht immer der Fall ist, auch kurz nach dem ersten Öffnen am Morgen war es bis zur Temperatur. Das Zimmer war sauber und komfortabel. Was das Restaurant betrifft, frage ich mich immer noch, wann das Kartoffelmangel in diesem Land begann! Mein Fisch und Chips hätten mit einigen mehr Chips getan. Es waren so wenige, die sie alle unter dem Fischstück verstecken konnten! Das ist eine Schande, weil das Essen wirklich nett war. Wäre sicherlich wieder aufzuhalten und wird in Zukunft wieder auf Leonardo aussehen, als ein früherer Aufenthalt irgendwo anders war wirklich nett.

Solch ein schönes Hotel. Personal ist sehr willkommen. Jeder ist bereit, zu helfen. Das Hotel selbst ist sehr sauber gehalten. Wir hatten sicherlich eine sehr komfortable gute Nachtslaffahrt. Frühstück war gut. Wir liebt die Freizeiteinrichtungen. Der Jacuzzi war unser Lieblings, die Wassertemperatur wS wie ein schönes sehr heißes Bad! Es war erstaunlich. Es war das Beste, das ich je gesehen habe. Auch es war eine sehr gute Größe.. Der Schwimmbad war zu kalt, um mich zu betreten. Ich bin Krebspatient und kann nicht in kaltes Wasser gehen. Das war mein einziger negativer Punkt.bi hätte gern zum Schwimmen gehen. Das Dampfzimmer und die Sauna waren gut. Ich bemerkte auch, dass es ein gutes Fitnessstudio gab, aber ich ging nicht dahin. Es gab ein schön eingerichtetes ruhiges Zimmer mit sofan und Kaffeetisch rund um, um sich zu entspannen oder zu arbeiten. Auch ein Computer mit Internet und einen Drucker für unsere Verwendung, die wirklich gut für arbeitende Gäste war. Ich habe dieses Hotel übernachten für meine Mutter und mich als ein wenig entspannende Getaway reserviert und es war perfekt. Das Parken ist kein Problem überhaupt. Wir werden das in der Zukunft sicherlich in der ganzen Familie fir jy reservieren, wie wir es wirklich genossen haben.
