This boutique hotel is conveniently located in the old City. The hotel staff are very friendly and even fetched us from the train station. Hotel room is spacious and comfortable. I accidentally dropped a ring in the lobby and the staff picked up and returned to me. Very pleasant staff and highly recommended.

Als meine Zahlungs-App beim Check-in nicht funktionierte, konnten wir später am Tag mit Kreditkarte zahlen. Das Frühstück ist lecker und sättigend, und man kann um Nachschub bitten. Ich habe hier am besten geschlafen, da es in einer ruhigen Straße liegt, etwas abseits der Hauptstraße, und die Zimmer waren sauber und geräumig, mit bequemen Betten; alles funktionierte und es wurde auf Details geachtet, wie einen Snackkorb und Wasserflaschen im Kühlschrank. Und das Auto war da, um uns vom Bahnhof Pingyao Gu Cheng abzuholen und auch wieder dorthin zurückzubringen. Es war ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt.

It was just an absolutely amazing experience from the very beginning and until the very end of our stay, not even just in the hotel, but in the city of Pingyao itself in general. Me and my friend are traveling very light and without guides, and in Pingyao we had only one day: from evening to evening of the next day. Huge huge thanks to everyone who made this day unforgettable and ultimately comfortable for tired us: Alice, Helen, Fenny, Hana, and all others who was there for us. The hotel service is simply excellent: as soon as they learned about our late arrival, they immediately offered to meet us at the railway station, which was absolutely the sweetest thing. They brought us to the city gate, met us there, and walked us to the hotel. There they gave us a map, on which they explained in great detail where everything is, what is worth paying attention to, how it is better to build the route, and what opening hours different sights have. They also helped us organize a private transfer to Shaolin Temple the next morning. It was just perfect: we got there in 15 minutes instead of one and a half hours by foot, and after our walk in the temple they met us and brought us back. Also on the evening of arrival they helped us immediately buy the ticket for visiting all attractions of the city, valid for three days. And also they advised us where to eat, and gave us a hotel discount in both places. We did not regret it even once, the food was amazingly delicious in both places! The hotel itself is just wonderful: it really looks exactly like in the photos. You want to photograph every corner and record how the sparrows are chirping on the roof, and how two wonderful cats are meowing. The room also matches and even exceeds expectations. A huge kang bed, very comfortable. Excellent shower with everything needed. Breakfast is included in the stay: the traditional Chinese one was very tasty! Unfortunately, we did not manage to eat the egg, it was freshly boiled and still hot, but we were hurrying to Shaolin Temple by opening time. Also the hotel has a laundry service, and special thanks for that too! Washing and drying were very fast, and we got our nicely smelling clothes back already after four hours, which was critical for us, because we were leaving the same day. We felt like we really were honored guests, and we really appreciated it, even if only for one day.

Super schönes B&B! Es wird empfohlen, dass alle Touristen, die nach Datong reisen, dieses B&B in Betracht ziehen. Die Lage ist sehr praktisch. In der antiken Stadt können Autos in der Nähe gefahren werden und es ist sehr bequem, berühmte Restaurants im Internet zu erreichen. Der Laden ist in der Tat sehr sauber, das Zimmer, das Bett und der Innenhof sorgen dafür, dass sich die Leute sehr wohl fühlen und die Heizung ist im Winter ausreichend werden gar nicht benötigt. Wir fragten den Chef beiläufig, ob er ein Auto gechartert hätte oder ob wir den Preis für ein gechartertes Auto wüssten Auto. Er ist immer auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden, kommen wieder.

Service: Der Chef ist sehr begeistert, es gibt einen Abholservice vom Bahnhof. Der S-Bahnhof ist zwar nicht dabei, aber verständlich. Die Abholung am Busbahnhof hat viel Ärger erspart! Und der Chef hat uns persönlich dabei geholfen, die Roadmap auszugeben! Ausstattung: noch relativ neu, der Wermutstropfen ist, dass das Badezimmer etwas durchnässt ist Hygiene: Sehr sauber, Tante putzt sehr fleißig Umgebung: Es ist wirklich ein ruhiger Ort inmitten des Trubels! Es liegt ganz in der Nähe der South Street, wo sich viele Sehenswürdigkeiten konzentrieren, liegt aber in einer Gasse ohne kommerzielle Entwicklung und ist daher sehr praktisch Diesmal ist die Reiseroute eng und viele wichtige Sehenswürdigkeiten wurden nicht besucht, aber es kann als Vorbote für den zweiten Besuch angesehen werden. Insgesamt war es eine gute Unterkunftserfahrung (P.S. Inn hat eine wunderschöne Aussicht bei Nacht)

I spent nearly a week at Datong Milan/Magnolia Hotel (Dai Residence branch) and it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay Location: - Nestled a quieter part of the ancient city, that provided a peaceful retreat after each day of exploring. - 10 minutes to some of the attractions of the old town - 15-20 minute walk to the popular restaurants and more attractions - 30 minute walk to Huayan Temple and its nearby street markets. I'm always happy to walk but if needed, I could always use DiDi to take me around. Falling asleep without street noise is something I like. There is a bit of building work going nearby, which is happening all over Datong Ancient City, but nothing too major. Nearby is the Ancient City's wall, but walk past that and you can see the locals dance in the morning in the park or walk along the canal/moat in the evening. Room: The room was surprisingly spacious, offering plenty of room to spread out and relax, a welcome change from cramped city accommodations. The staircase is a bit narrow, so those with lots of big luggage might struggle (no lift) Importantly, it was very clean and well equipped. I especially liked the Chinese tea ceremony set! Service: - Despite a noticeable language barrier, everyone went above and beyond with smiles, helpful gestures, and clear efforts to communicate. - Especially the manager, who told me about local food to try, things to do and asked if I needed anything. She noticed that I was bringing back leftovers from the restaurant, and bottled drinks from the shops, and said I could use the fridge. - I can't speak Chinese so when the delivery driver came to drop off my order, the staff will take it from the reception and bring it to me. - Unfortunately, breakfast isn't available here - Drinking water topped up. Humidifier and mosquito repellent were provided when needed. I will not hesitate to book here again on my next visit and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking comfort and genuine warmth in Datong!

Das Gasthaus ist sehr einzigartig und antik und ich fühle mich wohl, sobald ich den Innenhof betrete. Die Lage ist auch gut, in der Nähe von Sehenswürdigkeiten, die man unbedingt besuchen muss. Ich habe auch ein Reisefoto einer jungen Kaufmannsdame aus Shanxi im Gasthaus gemacht. Nachdem das Foto gemacht wurde, kann man die Kleidung einen Tag lang tragen, während man die antike Stadt besucht.
