The restaurant was the highlight of our visit it was spot on, the food was varied and cooked really well, out in good time, the waitress serving us was welcoming and very professional and couldn’t do enough for you. The check in was not so good an experience on arrival on Sunday 21st July 4pm the ‘meet and greet’ process at reception was pretty dire, no welcoming and once I had explained that I had checked in on line, I was just given a room key, no information about parking, breakfast times, facilities nothing. When I got to my room and read the directory it was at this point that it explained about parking and the other information I should have been given on arrival. At this point I then booked my car in at reception and the individual who I had seen earlier said, ‘Oh you should have put your details in on arrival, oh you might get a letter now and a fine for putting it in late ??? Unbelievable?? Front of house service needs addressing as it’s the first port of call for guests and staff need to be well informed and professional at all times. The hotel in general was clean tidy and well maintained, bedrooms, there was some cobwebs around the seating area, which should have been picked up by cleaners but overall OK. The hotel has lots of potential if some areas were addressed Would I stay there again ? Sadly not, unless standards of service improved.
