We stayed here on 7/31/24 in room 110, (the Barry Goldwater room). The room is located midway toward the front on the right side/wing (facing the building). It has a large outdoor patio area and is far enough away from the tracks you don't notice the trains very much. The room is decorated in an eclectic vintage style, it is good sized, has a closet, upper wall A/C unit, ceiling fan , desk, chair, end tables, TV and a comfortable bed (the pillows are small). There is no fridge, microwave or coffee maker. The internet worked well. There is a good sized bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and shower. There is no counter space near the sink. The water pressure was decent. The hotel has lovely grounds and an interesting art work spread through out the hotel. We spent an hour plus exploring the hotel and grounds (excluding the museum on the 3rd floor). There was free coffee in the lobby in the morning. Check in and out is through the gift shop area. The hotel takes Visa, MC, Discover and Amex. The Turquoise Room restaurant is located off the main lobby and available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ate there and found dinner was fine dining without a dress code. The historic hotel has been nicely restored and was a fun place to stay for the night. Parking is in front of the hotel and there is no good place to load or unload. We parked, got a luggage cart and then made the trek to the room. There are EV charging stations. If you like quirky, vintage or railroad hotels La Posada should be on your list to stay at. It's about a 40 mi. drive to Pet. Forest NP and 3o mi. drive to Flagstaff.
