I stayed solo for for 4 nights in June. Easily found on the edge of the village, being the last large building prior to open countryside. Plenty of free parking spaces. Friendly, efficient and very informative check in - thank you for the advice to obtain a regional travel pass from the Information office in the village. The hotel is rather dated in terms of being reminiscent of the 80’s, but has been well maintained and is spotlessly clean. The garden and pool are well maintained and have great views of the Jungfrau/Eiger. My room was the smallest single I’ve experienced worldwide, but with an unobstructed view along the valley to the Jungfrau/Eiger from the bed and small balcony - totally the best room view I’ve ever experienced anywhere in the world. The room was dated, small, but clean and comfortable - although anyone over 6ft would struggle with the bed length. The bathroom was again dated ( think shower curtain), but clean and just about large enough to be functional. To ensure an unobstructed view as above rooms 15/16/17 - 25/26/27 are the ones to take - probably 5/6/7 have similar views, but not sure. The room safe was one of the older/complicated types which defeated me despite assistance from the front desk. A safe in reception is available I believe. Buffet breakfast was to a high standard with plenty of cold choices plus hot eggs/bacon. The breakfast room has tables with the fabulous mountain view - I simply moved outside for an even more satisfying experience. No restaurant service offered, which is a pity. The walk back from the village eateries is short but steep - car parking being very limited in the village. Had the restaurant been open my rating would have been 5 star, purely based on the unobstructed mountain views from some rooms/areas. Would I stay again - an emphatic yes, but only for the views.
