Northern Lights Resort & Spa

We had the best experience we could ask for on our adventure to see the Northern Lights! Tobi, Lynn & the entire team made our time at the resort a first-class experience from the minute that we arrived in Whitehorse until we departed! The meals were delicious, varied, and they utilized local sourcing as much as possible! The accommodations were cozy and comfortable! The staff made sure that no detail was ignored and their knowledge allowed us to relax & soak in everything we could! Anyone wanting to get the Northern Lights experience needs to get here as fast as they can!!

This is such a lovely place to stay. It’s very comfortable with individual chalets. The host, Toby was extremely gracious and helpful. Lin’s breakfast was perfect. The in room amenities are top notch! No complaints possible. I hope to return for the Aurora.

Northern Lights Resort & Spa 10/7/24 to 10/10/24 My parents, husband, and I spent 4 days and 3 nights at the Northern Lights Resort & Spa in Whitehorse and it was undoubtedly one of the most magical and unforgettable trips I have ever experienced. From our arrival at the airport to our last day saying goodbyes we were provided with care and attention to our every need. Highlights of the trip: our excellent hosts Lynn and Toby, who created an incredibly cozy and well-organized resort. Patrick, who made us feel so welcome! He guided us on a personal natural walk around the grounds, knew our orders/preferences by heart, and was so funny and kind! Ulli is an absolute joy and was by far our favorite night guide host. She took extra time paying attention to our every need and ensuring we were comfortable, shared her incredible photography with us, and her excitement was contagious! Our chef James gave us literally the best dining experience of our lives. Words truly cannot describe the delicious dishes we enjoyed every lunch and evening and aside from the aurora itself, the food was the highlight of the trip for us! Our tour guide James was warm and friendly from the moment we met at the airport, and his knowledge about the history of the region was unsurpassed. We looked forward to his tours and enjoyed getting to know him! Juan, who helped out on one of our tours, was also so friendly we loved connecting with him about nature and birding – felt like we made a new friend! Rick, who guided us at the local wildlife refuge was extremely kind and also so knowledgeable - it’s clear he cares deeply about this non-profit and sharing the animals’ stories with guests. We could not recommend a better experience – from the clean and cozy atmosphere to the warm and welcoming environment, incredible food, and amazing staff – it made for the trip of a lifetime and I hope we can come back someday! Our room was really nice, the food was wonderful, and the workers were great. We were treated quite well. We never needed a car. We did a package that included several nights in downtown Whitehorse at the Best Western, although had tours by the resort's people. The Best Western was fine, but couldn't compare the the actual resort! We tried Kicksled, snowshoes, and had a snowmobile lesson and tour. We used the sauna (must reserve in advance). We took a tour to the wildlife preserve and a hot spring spa (artificially heated, but the place was nice). We also enjoyed our free time in Whitehorse, when staying at the Best Western. The area is not at all cosmopolitan, but it was charming and the people were friendly. The package was a bit expensive when you include the winter gear (which we probably didn't need as it wasn't as cold as it could have been). And, as luck would have it, we saw beautiful Northern Lights on our next to last day.

This is an amazing place! Tobi and Lynn, the owners, gave us a wonderful experience of a lifetime! The food was great (James is an amazing chef), the chalets were warm and comfortable, and the staff was wonderful! Patrick gave us a very informative tour, and was also our waiter at lunch and dinner. The young man, Richard, who drove us to and from the airport was talkative and outgoing. All in all, we'd do it again!

Our trip exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff treated every guest as though we were family & with an elite level of hospitality and convenience. From the moment we arrived, the staff bent over backwards to make sure we were happy, having fun, and that our every need was met. The food was incredible and no 2 meals were ever the same. The guides were welcoming, knowledgeable, and continuously chivalrous during each adventure we went on. The nightly fire was so much fun & the our guides made it even better! Our Aurora viewing was phenomenal and none of us will ever forget the magic we witnessed. We couldn’t recommend this resort more or give it enough stars for the experience and adventure they provided our family!
