Hand and Spear

Comfortable room with good quality furniture and fittings; and quiet. The bathroom had a powerful shower and was brightly decorated. This hotel is vary handy for Weybridge Station. The restaurant provided good 'value for money' food, and the service was quick: thank you, Joe, for your attention and help!

Stayed hear before the London to Brighton classic car run. Had a fab room with absolutely everything you need. Great bar and restaurant downstairs and a 20 minutes stroll into the town centre. Parking on site. Fantastic tasty breakfast all locally sourced and great staff. Highly recommend!

We've never had a bad stay at the Hand and Spear. The Staff are always a delight - warm and welcoming every time, and the food offering is always well cooked and presented. Thanks especially to Emily, Jessamie, Sotty, Lauren, Bex and Karen. They were especially busy with a wedding during the weekend we stayed and coped with that going on, along with a busy pub and the hotel with good humour and professionalism. They're a credit and a huge asset to Youngs. Looking forward to the next visit (and so is Bella)

This afternoon I had a great service from Chloe who was really accommodating. Myself and my daughter had a quick pit stop for a drink and some chips. The service was quick and the chips were the best we have ever had! If you’ve never been before, you need to go. It’s a lovely establishment and they had lots of lovely dishes on the menu as well as lots of choices for drinks available. We will definitely be back again soon!

Stayed for a few nights, staff friendly and welcoming. Room was in an Annex outside which was lovely and quiet as we had no guests next door, only downside it stunk of dogs. My Daughter wanted to surprise us with a note, bottle of Prosecco and table booked for an evening meal. It was an Anniversary and Birthday celebration. The Hotel had forgotten to do this, my Daughter was extremely upset as she had planned well in advance of our trip. Hotel staff apologised, delivered a bottle of sparking wine at the table, promised us things would be sorted and better the next day. On arrival to our room the bottle of Prosecco had arrived with the note. It was a shame as the surprise had been taken away from us. Following evening they left a cake in our room with plates and cutlery, that was a nice touch. Food on the whole was good, breakfast was a let down, especially if you were having continental as I did, not much selection, pastries maybe 3 to choose from, Cereal one choice, no yoghurts, no marmalade jam, Strawberry or Honey. Sour bread, so had to ask if they had white/brown bread. On arrival you had to pay your bill in full, never been asked that before in all the years I stayed in different establishments.

The hotel is tired and needs upgrading. In my room. The toilet seat wasn’t fitted properly. In fact it was only attached on one side. LED lights in the bathroom flickering non stop. Sink pug jammed and took an age to drain. I pointed all of these things out to reception on the first afternoon of a two day stay. Nothing was done. It’s so disappointing to reflect back to what it used to be like 16 yrs ago when I first started staying there.
