Hotel Restaurant Villa Lokeend Vinkeveen

I stayed two nights as I was around in business, and our local colleagues recommended this place. I understood from them that owner change has happened during recent years. The room was really big with a big living area and a bedroom. There was a sign on the table stating that "the room has been cleaned and desinfected before your arrival", and in this case it must have been two years ago. There was dust all over the place, not just thin dust flying around but thick layers of dust and dust balls on the floor lists and wall outlets. Didn't really feel "just cleaned". What was the worst was that there were spider webs with spiders in the corners of the rooms and in the bathroom under the sink. It was Halloween when I arrived, but this was a bit too much. I noticed it as I wanted to move a lamp and got spiderwebs all over my legs. At that time the personnel had left and I was about to go to bed, so I cleaned away the spiderwebs with the toilet brush. (Did not really feel so hygienic, but rather that than sleeping with spiders). The next day I did find a vacuum cleaner in the hallway and vacuumed the whole suite, but the vacuum was in grave need of emptying and cleaning itself as it smelled of old, rancid dog, after which my room smelled awful. (Glad that the doors could be opened..) Breakfast was ready made and set on the table. I asked for a coffee with milk, there was no milk in the house. Next morning I asked for a cappuccino instead, and they said that they only have black coffee. (The breakfast was served in the hotel's restaurant, so quite difficult to believe that a cappuccino could not be made.) The croissant was buttery and flaky, which raises the overall experience. Overall, the stay was really not what was expected and needless to state that during my next visit we will choose another accommodation.
