Allow me to share our experience with the "hospitality" and the "customer satisfaction policy" of Le Logis aux Bulles... For my 50th birthday, my girlfriend wanted to surprise me with a 4-day stay in the Champagne region of France. She wanted to keep this a secret for me, of course. So for our first night she booked a room (the biggest and most expensive one) @ Le Logis aux Bulles including a tasting. The main reason being that they offer a champagne tasting in their own cellar. On 26/6 she receives a mail from the property sayin that arrivals are only possible between 17 and 19h (and not before 15h), otherwise the key will be placed in a safe. Hereto she replies that we are not exactly sure of our arrival time, so please leave the key in the box. 1/7 out of the blue my girlfriend receives a mail saying the tasting is cancelled... The same day she replies, explaining this is a surprise for my birthday and she had chosen their place specifically for the wine tasting, asking to please find a solution. 2/7, 10:10h a new mail, claiming that my girlfriend had said in a previous mail we would not arrive before 19h. Not true! She had said we were not sure we would arrive between 17 and 19h! But she could let them know at what time she'd like to do the tasting. 45 minutes later, at 10:55h a new mail: no tasting is possible on Saturday, but we can choose to do it on Sunday morning (...). No reason given for this unilateral cancellation! 3/7 my girlfriend informs me, because she no longer knows what to do. So the surprise is already gone. To try and save the situation, 4/7 at 7:56h I contact the property by mail with the same series of events, described here above. At 10:54h the reply from the property is the following: "Your girlfriend cannot make a reservation without specifying a time frame. She never did. Seeing as we cannot satisfy your demands, we cancel your complete booking altogether and will no longer reply"... Excuse me? At what point in time did you ask us for a preferred time slot? And what gives you the right to unilaterally cancel our booking one day prior to arrival? I guess they have never heard of the term customer service or guest satisfaction. Totally unacceptable!
