Reviews born from frustration seldom flatter, but I will endeavor to be fair—and honest. We booked our stay about a year from our arrival. At the time of our booking, the hotel advertised air conditioned rooms and included a complimentary breakfast. Our reservation indicated we had a breakfast included with our stay—something we paid extra for. However, upon arrival, our situation had shifted in the hotel’s favor. We arrived just after 2PM, which was the earliest we could check in. The desk clerk was clumsily attempting to check in the young lady who was ahead of us. It took him almost 25 minutes to get her room processed. In the mean time, the lobby began to fill with travelers. The clerk didn’t speak English and the young lady spoke broken English. After 15 minutes, she turned to the crowd and asked if anyone spoke Italian. She knew there was an issue with her room, but didn’t know what it was. The clerk was trying to get her to pay a city tax, and it took a long time to resolve that issue. She insisted she had already paid it, but finally surrendered and offered to pay it again so she could go to her room. When we finally checked in, we found our room on the second floor (actually third, as they don’t count the ground as a level), and entered our room. The first thing we noticed was the room temperature. It was warm and stuffy. A quick inspection revealed the air conditioner was completely disconnected from electric power, as the wires were openly dangling from the ceiling. One of the staff members was helping guests carry their luggage to their room, as the hotel did not have an elevator. We asked about the air conditioner and she said it was unavailable throughout the entire hotel as they were upgrading the system. She brought us a fan. We asked to be moved to another room, but she insisted that none of the rooms had air conditioning. We asked to be moved to a room with more windows so we could get air flow, but she said it was impossible. We asked if they would allow us to check out so we could find better accommodations, but she said there were no refunds. We were stuck with our prepaid room. To make matters worse, our sister and her husband checked in at the same time and their room had air conditioning. To be fair—the hotel did offer to exchange our room after some other guests checked out the next day. But, we declined, not wanting the hassle of having to pack our stuff again to move down one floor. But, sleeping with an open window drew mosquitos, so we should have accepted the room change hassle. The room was clean, but it was tiny. There was no room to walk around the bed, as it was pushed against two walls. Our “dresser” space was taken by the fan. The bathroom was clean and had a decent stand-up shower. It was super small. Only one person could be in the bathroom at a time. And only one person could stand beside the bed at a time. There was little room for changing clothes. We had to place our second bag in front of the door

Lovely hotel situated on a canal in the heart of Venice , all the main attractions are within a few minutes walk so perfectly located . All of the staff are friendly, attentive and will help you with anything you need , We had a deluxe room overlooking the canal which was great as could watch the gondola go by Room itself was spacious,clean and comfortable Breakfast offered a good selection of some hot and cold dishes There is a small dock which is used for the private water taxis ,you can also sit out there with a drink watching all the boats come by We took the water taxi to the airport and it’s a short walk to the hotel Would absolutely stay here again and definitely recommend this hotel

Das Hotel hat eine grandiose Lage, nur ein paar Minuten fußläufig zum Markusplatz und zur Rialto Brücke. Wir hatten ein tolles Zimmer im venezianischen Stil des Hotels mit Blick auf den Kanal, das in einem TOP Zustand war. Das Personal ist äußerst nett und zuvorkommend und vor allem hilfsbereit. Wir waren mehr als zufrieden und würden jederzeit wieder dieses Hotel wählen.

Lovely family run hotel. High-spirited and friendly staff always at the front desk and ready with any advice needed. The rooms are spacious, bathrooms nice, cleaning service excellent, and breakfast was tasty. They were able to book us a water taxi on a very busy weekend to get us to the train station and when on our day of departure there was a train strike just happening, the staff checked our train online, reassured us that our long distance train would probably still eb running, and made us feel so much better as we headed off to Santa Lucia train station. And they were right! Our train was one that departed on schedule. Giuseppe made that morning feel just fine when otherwise we would have been stressed as we left after 2 wonderful days in Venice. Also, there are wonderful restaurants right next door so dining was a pleasure! The service and vibe is high-spirited and excellent. We highly recommend Hotel Fonatna. And the the location is incredible. Right next to St. Mark's Square and where the vaporettos stop. We are a family of 4 and had no problem rolling our luggage up the narrow streets to Hotel Fontana - and it was so great being right near the grand canal. Our first night we were given advice were to get a gondola and how much to pay as well. 5+++++ starts for Hotel Fontana.

Ich bin eher zufällig im H10 Canova gelandet, als mir (vor Ort) meine preiswerte Pension, in der ich eigentlich reserviert hatte, das Zimmer storniert hat und ich die Wahl hatte, nach der ersten Nacht abzureisen oder ein anderes Hotel zu suchen. Nun ja, als ich dann beim Vorbeilaufen das Canova entdeckte, bin ich ich rein und habe nach einem frein Zimmer ab morgen gefragt. Ich hätte kaum eine bessere Wahl treffen können. Die Lage am Canale Grande gleich neben der Rialto-Brücke ist toll und die Betten sind himmlisch. Wer die brettharten Matratzen und Kissen preiswerter Hotel ins Italien kennt, weiß wovon ich rede ... Außerdem war alles sehr sauber und sah auch sehr neu aus. Die Mitarbeiter, mit denen ich zu tun hatte, waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Frühstück hatte ich dort nicht (soll 30 Euro kosten :-( ), andere Einrichtungen wurden ebenfalls nicht genutzt. Freue mich schon auf den nächsten Venedig-Besuch, bei dem ich gerne wieder das Canova buchen würde (dann aber von vornherein; die Pension sieht mich nie wieder ;- ) ).

Nachdem sie dorthin gegangen waren, sagte die Hotelrezeption, dass es kein Zimmer gab, und Ctrips Bestellung wurde an diesem Morgen bestätigt, und sie wollten für uns in ein Hotel wechseln. Mit einem strengen Blick führte er ein anderes Hotel. Die Lage ist etwas weit weg, aber das Hotel ist super Vier-Sterne, die Umgebung ist in Ordnung und akzeptabel. Nach der Bestätigung von Ctrip ist die Einstellung ebenfalls sehr gut und das Problem wird aktiv gelöst Das Hotel hat eine mehr als 100-jährige Geschichte. Es ist außen etwas kaputt und innen sehr neu. Das Frühstück ist so, das europäische Frühstück ist nicht an Essen gewöhnt Einer der größten Nachteile ist, dass das Hotel sehr kalt ist, es sehr kalt ist und das Badewasser nicht heiß ist. Es gibt keine Möglichkeit, ein Bad zu nehmen. Ich weiß nicht, ob alle Hotels in Italien so sind, das Wasser des Hotels war in der Nacht zuvor nicht heiß und ich fühlte mich nach dem Baden erkältet. Trotzdem sind die Schweizer Hotels von hoher Qualität und die Details sind vorhanden. Das Hotel hat übrigens Hausschuhe.

Ausgezeichnete Lage und ein sehr ”venetischer” Dekor. Ich mag nicht sehr viel Pilz auf der Decke und der Geruch von Pelz im Zimmer.Das Badezimmer ist angenehmen, modern mit Bad. Das typische italienische Frühstück ist süß, Schreckliche Kaffee- wie aus dem Express, aber lösbar.Plus diese leckeren Croissants und sehr schöne Service.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Such a quaint little hotel. Not many rooms but so much charm. There is a rooftop terrace too. Breakfast available (10euros PP) There were 3 of us staying in the room and there was plenty of room. The bathroom had a bathtub as well as a shower which was nice. Very central to all the shops / restaurants. We got lost a few times so make sure you always have your phone for google maps. We stored some of our luggage at Venezia Centrale so we didn’t have to lug them up all the stairs and bridges. This was a godsend.

Wir buchten vier Nächte und hatten ein wunderschönes großes Zimmer, nur Zimmer, übersichtliches Kanal. Großes luftiges angenehmes Zimmer. Komfortable Bett. Sauber gutes Leinen. Großes Badezimmer. Warmwasser. Alle sehr sauber und in guter Zustand Wir hatten Tee und Kaffee und Kuchen und komplimentäre Toiletten. Alle ausgefüllt. Zimmer täglich gereinigt. Es gab eine Küche mit Kühlschrank und Toaster und Hobby etc., die ich annehmen war für den allgemeinen Gebrauch. Die Vereinbarung ist, dass Sie Personal anrufen, um sich zu überprüfen, ob Sie außerhalb ihrer regelmäßigen Zeitnischen sind. Sie müssen ein Mobiltelefon anrufen. Denken Sie nicht, dass die Fronttürbell funktioniert. Es ist eine seltsame Vereinbarung, um Personal telefonisch zu halten, vor allem wenn Sie nicht Italienisch sprechen. Esperienza meravigliosa. Posizione ottima vicino alla stazione ma anche comoda al centro con una camminata di 20 min. Mentre è a 10 min da cannareggio. Tanti ristoranti e bancari ottimi a 5 min. Camere meravigliose e pulite! Colazione eccezionale! Personale squisito! Vale il prezzo! Ci torneremo!
