Hotel Burrhus

We have stayed at Hotel Burrhus regularly in the past years. Fully renovated this year, it maintains its cosy and welcoming atmosphere. We love the central location. The spotless rooms with beautiful original floor tiles are not overloaded and some have a piece of beautiful vintage furniture. The beds are very comfortable. Staff is very helpful and friendly. We can only recommend this hotel. Try to book well in advance, the place is often fully booked, especially during high season.

The hotel does have an excellent location, right on the main square in town, as well as near the main attractions and streets, and the staff are lovely and very helpful. But you need to be cautioned about a few limitations : 1. we took a "regular" room. It was very small and spartan although clean. No real storage areas. 2. There is no parking on site, and although a large lot is less than a 5 minute walk away, there is really no easy place to drop of your luggage (there is a smaller lot on the other side of the square, but often full, and with only short term parking available, your car would need to be moved by the morning if you could find a spot). 3. There are no elevators and lots of steps, so be prepared for a workout if carrying luggage. 4. The breakfast, although plentiful, is buffet style. Given the abundant delicious choices in town, would choose those even if it means spending a bit more for the meal.

Staff always helpful and polite, lovely breakfast, spotless. Hotel situated on the main square in the new part of town close proximity to local shops, restaurants, Boulangeries and amazing artisan ice cream parlour. Beautiful picturesque Roman village. Must also visit medieval part of the town the other side of the river.

The positive: - Responsive and very friendly staff, always listening and helpful, they were the best! - Great location in the heart of Vaison-la_Romaine, in walking distance to all sights, shops and restaurants - A nice terrasse where you can eat your own-bought food - Air conditioning in rooms is very welcome when it's hot outside The negative: - The hotel needs overall renovation, starting from loose plugs, to sound isolation (hotel room doors) - The tiles and paint in the rooms are oldfashioned, not to say ugly - The room equipment is more than basic and reminds of a youth hostel. Bathroom: no hair dryer, no shower curtain for the bath tub, no shower head holder. Bedroom: no headboards, very basic chairs and table, only one plug by the nightstand (you need to choose either to charge your phone or use the night table lamp), no mirror, no safe in closet. - The overall decoration in the hotel is artsy, however, it lacks some charm and personality (which could be achieved by placing nicer furniture, area rugs and plants) - Very basic breakfast!

We stayed in a big room on the top floor. Nice high ceiling. Narrow street view. Quite a few narrow stairs to get up. Would be difficult with huge suitcases. The check in staff was friendly and prompt and took us to our room. Modern, art deco style interior. Pleasant. Internet and air conditioning stopped working in the middle of the night through the morning because of some sort of electrical issues. Nothing was resolved when we checked out and no effort was made early on to fix the issue when I spoke to someone who looked to be in charge. Great location downtown with one spot to unload in front if not already taken. Parking is limited but free parking exist around town. Take your valuables with you.

We stayed here before and gotta large room with balcony as requested. Yes parking is a few minutes walk but you are in the middle of the center and it does not bother us. Staf is very friendly and this time we took the very good breakfast on their terrace which was nice.
