The motel is nothing fancy, but has adequate facilities for an overnight stay and is a short walk from Ulladulla Beach and the port. Rooms without access to the motel garden feel oppressive, with small windows, but otherwise they are ok. The serious problem with this motel is not the building and its amenities but the duty manager. She was extremely rude and aggressive toward us. For background, when I book a room on Trip.com I am usually in a hurry and only enter my own name. In this case, I also entered my wife's name, but not that of our child, which is 4 and sleeps in the same bed as us. I never enter her details when searching for a room, as I regard this information irrelevant for the purposes of booking. (I give her details when we check in.) Well, as soon as the Oasis duty manager saw our child in the motel lobby, she went berzerk. She ordered us to immediately "remove" her from the premises because the motel was "licensed" and didn't take children. I had prepaid Trip.com the astronomical fee AU$400.00 for that very ordinary room, as it was Christmas Day and there was no other accommodation available between Jervis Bay (where we had planned to stay) and Batemans Bay (where we ended up staying after the monstrous duty manager at the Oasis kicked us out). She would listen to no argument for mercy, indeed she seemed to delight in the fact that she could exercise her supreme power over us and refuse us a refund and order us to leave. It is important to mention that the motel's bar and dining room were closed for the holidays and no alcohol was being served on the premises at the time. But the duty manager's cruelty toward us and our child on Christmas Day is the stuff of legend. Because there was nowhere else close by to stay, I agreed to sleep with the child in the back of the car while my wife kept the room for herself. But when in the evening I took the child into the room for a few minutes to wash her, the duty manager's volcanic anger exploded and she banged the room door open and started kicking against the bathroom door behind which the child was still naked and wet. In desperation to escape this unmitigated evil, I packed everything and everyone into the car as fast as I could and left for Batemans Bay, where I found a tiny room at the extortionate rate of $300.00 for one night. The Wicked Witch of Ulladulla also took a $200.00 security deposit off my credit card, which she is refusing to refund me. All in all, our Christmas Day pokey motel accommodation experience cost us $900.00 plus psychological trauma for us and our child, who was subsequently terrified of entering motels and wanted us to end the holiday and return home. Advice to Trip.com: When a property refuses to take children for any reason, NOTE THIS IN NEON LIGHTS AT THE TOP OF THE PROPERTY'S PAGE, as I suspect that many parents are like me and don't bother to list all members of their family when they book. Therefore, I also hold Trip.com partly responsible for this nightmare experience, as the motel's Trip.com mobile phone landing page said nothing about the property's aversion to children.
