Stepping into the Poonch House felt like stepping into a time portal, a journey back to the charm of mountain living. Close to nature, and the rustic vibes created a pure setting with plenty of plants and trees all around. Their organic farm provided most of the food, and the garden and open areas were perfect for unwinding. On the last day, I was pleasantly surprised to find a small fish pond in the backyard :) Our room, designed with rustic charm, was comfortable and in tune with mountain aesthetics. One thing that I liked the most about Poonch House was that it stood out for its commitment to sustainability, evident in the solar panels and CNG-powered water heaters! The room and the patio even had a library wonderful books. A simple yet beautiful addition to the overall setting. The hardworking and humble staff, including Raju bhaiyya and Sonu, maintained the property with true dedication. The in-house companions, from the 5 dogs to Sultan the horse and the cow, added a friendly touch. Even Gabbar, the initially intimidating dog, turned out to be really gentle :) Lastly, I must say that in the heart of Poonch House beats Bharat ji's spirit, the co-owner, manager & the soul of this retreat. Living by his own rules, he infuses life into every corner, ensuring Poonch House isn't just a place but a living experience. A harmonious blend of firm principles and approachable warmth, Bharat ji elevates the atmosphere, making Poonch House a timeless haven that transcends the ordinary. Big cheers to him, the true orchestrator of this poetic escape where time stands still.
