Rodeway Inn Tuscaloosa Near University

My husband and I had the DISPLEASURE of staying at theTuscaloosa, Alabama (AL056) location. I can assure you that I will NEVER stay in a Roadway Inn ever again! Upon walking into the lobby I felt like I was walking into a Stephen King movie. If it wasn’t graduation day at The University of Alabama I would have walked out, but there were no available rooms in the area. When we walked into the room we were greeted with a Horrible, Musty smell. Where do I begin, Let me see the smoke detector was taken off the ceiling, and was lying on the dresser, there were gross stains all over the fabric chair, and the telephone hadn’t been cleaned in years. My husband went over to the AC unit and noticed that there was dust and grime all over it. He wiped it down, and the towel was disgusting! The bathroom was DISGUSTING!!!!!!!! The toilet wobbled when you sat on it, the shower floor had cracks in it, so they had a bath mat over it. The shower door had black mold all over it. I have never been so Disgusted in my whole life! My husband had to clean the shower twice before we would use it. This is by far the worst hotel that we’ve ever stayed in!!!!! I feel completely ripped off, $224 for a room that I wouldn’t pay $20 for.

This hotel was very clean and the staff was so friendly and accommodating….. we plan on staying here next trip….great as t location to the university and easy to get to every thing…. This hotel is family owned and they are very nice… we didn’t used the pool but it looked clean and inviting…

Room was amazing, Shower was nice , and room was overall sweet ,especially the smart mirror in the bath room . Bed was real comfortable and the lady at the desk was super helpful and great smile and I plan on coming back to that same specific hotel. Great hospitality and smooth resting spot!

The bed is very comfortable, rooms are clean. There can be update carpeting , however all in all this hotel is worth staying at. The owners and staff are very accommodating and nice. Complimentary breakfast every morning is a plus. Close by to restaurants and various stores.

The room was "non smoking", not so much. I woke up all night smelling the dreadful scent of old cigarette smoke that was no doubt steeped deeply into the carpet, mattress and drapes. I have a strong feeling they swap smoking rooms to non smoking without thoroughly cleaning and deodorizing the room. The employees were very nice and friendly, but I would NEVER pay game night rates for this hotel, the Motel 6 is cleaning, better smelling and half the price.

This didn't look like much from the street but it turned out to be a decent place. Staff were friendly & helpful and the hotel was reasonably quiet at night. The room we had was a 2 bedroom suite where there was a completely separate bedroom included with the usual layout and that allowed for a bit of privacy as we were travelling with another couple. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and my other half made good use of the pool. The one drawback was that the 'hot breakfast' was a little lacking as there was no eggs or meat of any kind. It was more of a 'continental breakfast' so if you want a decent breakfast you'll have to drive to the Waffle House or Cracker Barrel on the other side of I-20.

I was a little weary when I saw the outside but once you enter it’s a different story. From the beginning the staff is extremely pleasant. Very friendly and welcoming people. It’s seems family owned but not sure. The room I’m in looks newly renovated, even smells like fresh paint. Very please and would recommend staying here. These are just my first impressions. I haven’t tried the hot breakfast yet but based on my experience so far, I’m sure I won’t be let down.

Between the paper thin walls, the loud manager, and the prositutes having sex, and the police men hauling them out. They could have reduced the price a bit. This place is simply the best of the worst. As Tuscaloosa is an awful town. And has nothing going for it, except the football season at the college. During that time, prices are unbelievable over inflated. To where people can spend upwards of $300 on an at best mediocre place like this.

The people are very friendly I will definitely be going back! From the food to the service everything was nice and clean! It’s a very friendly family atmosphere!When you first walk in to the building they greet you with a smile!And the pool area is great as well!
