Alles sehr stilvoll, gepflegt, modern und sauber. Netter Service und leckeres Frühstück mit frischem Obst und auch veganen und laktosefreien Speisen. Abstellmöglichkeit für Fahrräder im Innenhof. Das Hotel ist in einem ehemaligen Gefängnis.

Cool, different hotel. Luxurios feel, nice, very clean and beatiful room. Would detimitely stay here again. Close to the harbour and Aurajoki. Fascinating history. Church was a nice touch. Now it was a bit cold outside but I bet this location will be extra lovely summertime.

Absolutely fabulous hotel, luxury but still cosy. Very exciting information about history of this hotel. Highly recommended and suitable for families, business or lovebirds. Decoration is just breathtaking. Location is perfect, just few steps away from Aura-river, there you can find coffeeshops, restaurants and nice view for short or long walks.

Hotel was one of the finest hotels I’ve ever visited. Customer service was excellent, amazing interior, quiet rooms, excellent beds and very clean and beautiful bathrooms. Dinner and breakfast were both great at the Ruben restaurant! Kakola’s interesting history was also well presented at all ways possible. I will surely come again soon!

Service nice. Rooms nice. The breakfast is below average. There is a hotel chain on Finland with the name referring to northern Finland which has far superior breakfast experience. Please consider copying at least closer to that level. Thanks

Great atmosphere, location, cozy rooms, comfortable beds, great service. Breakfast is included and a lot of parking space in the new parking garage (Easy Park app or pay at the Hotel). Spa is definitely an experience and only 20€ / guest for hotel visitors. Note, the Spa is 200 meters from the Hotel and underground, built into a granite like a cave. Definitely worth seeing. Location of the Hotel is great. In the center of Turku up on a hill, between the castle in the west and the market square in the east. Walk down from the hill to the riverfront and you arrive at river ferry Föri, running across the Aura river. Crossing takes about 2 minutes. From that spot you can take a turn to right and walk all the way to the castle and ferry terminal, 1,4 km 19 minutes. Along the way you see museum ships and Forum Marinum (Maritime museum). Or turn left and walk towards market square and Turku cathedral, all the way to the cathedral takes about 30 minutes 2,3 km, but there are museums like Pharmacy Museum and Aboa Vetus along the way. Instead of walking, you can rent a bike from the hotel and then it takes only 4 minutes to castle and 9 minutes to cathedral from Föri riding a bike.

Hotel was very good, quit rooms with good bed and linen, clean, good service, nice atmosphere. The breakfast was very good with good and quality selections of everything. Especially for gluten free diet, you can eat almost everything from the buffet except for bread but there was own gluten free bread selection where to choose from.

A great and unique place with a nostalgic atmosphere. The pepper steak was excellent. The room had better snacks and was otherwise comfortable and functional. I thought the price was a bit high. I recommend this place. The place is more suitable for adults. The spa is like a combination of restaurant and spa. Booking times are a good innovation, because the places don't fill up and crowds don't form easily.

Stayed in Kakola hotel for a weekend. The prison theme is present throughout the hotel whether you stay in a cell with bunk beds or a more traditional hotel room built into old cells. Rooms are very nice and clean. Functional. Service is very good. Location is nice, good views and close to the river and some attractions. City center is within a 20 min walk. Some restaurants close to the hotel on Kakola hill, more also by the river (10 min walk). Breakfast is sufficient, but could be improved. Enjoyed our stay very much.
