The family which owns the property are very friendly, and they’ve done a good job with this place. The garden is lovely, with some nice gazebos to sit in close to the edge of the lake. Our room was huge, with a huge bathroom and a huge balcony. We definitely had much more space than we needed! We opted to have our meals here rather than to go out - it made sense at breakfast, and it rained very heavily one of the evenings. Everything we had was excellent, and portion sizes were always more than adequate. Overall very happy with our two night stay, although it felt a little on the expensive side for what is - essentially, a simple guest house: breakfast was extra, no shampoo or shower gel in the bathroom (just a small bar of soap), no tea/coffee in the room (just a kettle)….. Tuktuk is a great little village and the perfect base for exploring the lake and the island. It’s a pity that one of the bars nearby has decided to spoil the atmosphere by having really loud live music six nights a week. You don’t have to look to hard to find the reviews online about it. This isn’t Juma’s fault in any way, but it was impossible to sleep until they closed.
