We booked our stay in Torteguero to relax after an epic hiking trip and this property was perfect for us. The hotel appears to have had recent renovations and the kind maintenance was busy in it's upkeep each day. Although this property is located right near the main dock in town you can barely see it as there are gardens surrounding that are mature and impeccable, you can tell lots of love goes into their care. The front desk was helpful and friendly if you had any requests. This hotel appears to offer small cabins as well as hotel rooms. We had a fairly basic hotel room on the ground floor, with patio chairs, our room had air-con, was freshly painted and kept very clean by the maid staff here each day, complete with creative towel art. No t.v here (we did not want or need one) Shower Tip: As in most places in Costa Rica, you need to select a lower pressure in order to have a warmer shower, if you do that you will find the hot water is perfect! We enjoyed being in town so we could have a locals feel and walk to dinners out along the canal. We also took walks down the beach (to the left, which made a nice 8 mile round trip, a great workout in the soft sand.) We dipped in the ocean but the waves and rip tides are truly too rough, I do not suggest swimming here. We swam and sat by the cute small hotel pool in a garden setting, which was relaxing, you also can sit in lounger chairs facing the sandy beach in the rear of the property and birdwatch here. Breakfast included each day was tasty and typical costa rica eggs and pinto available, several days we even had ham and cheese omelets and always had unlimited coffee which was great. I was usually full until dinner. If looking for a more chill comfy vibe, this place checked all the boxes at a reasonable price in lovely Tortugero.
