Tombstone San Jose House

Absolutely loved this place, not sure where the bad reviews are coming from. We stayed here with our 2 teenagers and 2 dogs and will most likely stay here again. There was a lot of room and the beds & bedroom were so comfortable, it was clean and the air conditioner was amazing. It was also so close to the attraction you can walk across the street and be in the middle of it. Also loved that there was no housekeeping knocking on other people's doors so we were finally able to get some good sleep. Definitely will recommend this to anyone planning on visiting.

My wife and I stayed in the Doc Holliday room. It was cozy with plenty of light. It is rustic inside. Has most comforts you need for your stay. Could use a dish towel for the kitchen. The bed was comfortable and had plenty of heat coming from the split ac heat unit. Room was clean with a kitchenette and dining table giving it a rustic feel. Great location for seeing everything Tombstone has to offer. The hot water takes about 10 minutes to travel through the pipes for that room. Maybe cause low flow faucet and shower head. Great place to stay for the 3 day visit. Don't expect the hotel to be like modern hotels because it is almost 150 years old. With the upgrades it has it is a good place to stay.

I had reached out to the property multiple times (as their instructions ask) because I was going to be arriving late. I never received a response from them or a call back. When I arrived I rang the bell multiple times (as instructed on the door) and made attempts to call the number listed on the door and there was no answer. Due to this I was unable to utilize the room and had to find another place to stay for the night. I requested a refund because I did what was asked of me and I did reach out to let the property know I would be later. But they did not hold up there end. I was unable to stay in the room that was prepaid for due to their lack of return communication and hospitality. My boyfriend is a HUGE tombstone fan and we were very excited to stay in the room and fully intended to stay in the room that night and we were physically unable to due to the reasons above. If you care at all about communication and hospitality I STRONGLY SUGGEST exploring other options when you stay in Tombstone.

This odd little building is situated right across the street from the world famous OK Corral. You could hardly get a better location. Parking was right outside the building and very convenient. Having been built in 19th Century it does not feature the soulless charm of a chain hotel, the modern conveniences of new build semi detached house. What this little place has is an air of authenticity from a bye gone era. Stepping inside it was cold and unusual but turning on the heater solved the cold and it being unusual added to the stay rather than diminished it. Saw one review on here about it and I will put a counter: The owners constant smoking wasnt a problem because I never saw her, didnt need to. I am only 5'7" and the shower was amply above my head and, although no expert in these matters, confident it would suffice to cover a 6 footer. There was ample seating provision both inside and out and whilst it is true that there is no door into the bedroom I am more than happy to be that intimate with my partner, even go so far as to say happy as can be about it, for her maybe not so much. All in all a rather pleasant charming place with quirks and charm.

The location is fabulous as it’s just across the road from all Tombstone has to offer. It’s rustic inside but has everything you need. We were booked for 2 nights but moved somewhere else for the second night. Reason … the bed and pillows were just too uncomfortable and the AC was too noisy to use.

I dont mind staying in older hotels but our room was very dirty. Vents in the room hadn't been dusted in a year. I swated a fly on the screen and dust went flying. I would avoid staying here. The location was great. They have 3 rooms. The pictures on the website look great but don't be fooled. We moved to the Lookout Lodge on the edge of town which was much better.
