Parklands Motor Lodge Timaru

When I made the order, I marked in the remarks and also I sent email to the hoist for my late check in as I will be arriving late. Sadly no one reply me and paid attention and when I arrived, unlike other Motels that I hired before, there’s no information about my room number and key. I have to wondering around and call the hoist, whom cannot solve my problem until checking everything for prolonged period. Then the hoist just told me the room number, which was actually didn’t lock. Why don’t you just put a paper at the reception telling me the room number like most other Motels?? What a stupid arrangement Will never recommend this motel to others and badly rated as a resulted

Great place near all convienences stores and near California bay . Good value

Terrible motel, internet does not work and still did not work after many requests with owners. If you want internet do not stay here. Room also have no aircon and is hot inside and they only have two hour timer fan. Nice bath though and sky channels.

We stayed here for one night towards the end of a recent South Island road trip. I phoned and made a booking a couple of days before we stayed, requesting a studio unit with a king bed, and ground floor access (I am not too steady on my feet and find it easier to have few or no stairs). We arrived just before 2pm, I’d phoned to make sure the room was ready. The gentleman at reception was very nice and showed my husband the studio unit, which had 8 stairs up to it – the section that the motel is built on slopes so most units have some stairs to a greater or lesser degree. The proprietor then offered us a two bedroom unit, with only two stairs to get to it, for the same price. We were very grateful, that was a lovely offer and we took it, as it was much easier for me. The unit (number 8) is very well appointed and though it was a cold evening it heated up really quickly once we’d turned the heater on. There is a full sized stove so you can cook full meals if you wish. There’s a dining table and chairs, and a couch. There’s also a single bed in the lounge area. There is a King bed in one bedroom, and a double (might be a Queen?) and a single in the second bedroom. The bathroom is very roomy. The shower was very good, great pressure. There is also a spa bath in the bathroom. There is also proper MySky so you can record channels of your choice if you wish. Everything in our unit was very clean. There is a bit of road noise but since it’s on SH1 that is only to be expected. It certainly didn’t stop us from getting a good night’s sleep – we both slept very well. There is a Pak’n Save supermarket, a petrol station, and various eateries (McDonald’s, KFC among others) a very short distance along the road. Thank you to the Parklands Motor Lodge for making our stay so enjoyable. We highly recommend this accommodation.

Very friendly welcome. Fantastic location within a short walk to supermarket and fast foods. My King studio unit was modern, roomy, and spotlessly clean with extras like a full kitchen incl oven, shower with fantastic water pressure & separate bath. Bed was super comfy, with electric blanket. Definitely value for money here. The only downside is the road noise being on SH1 and the units aren’t double glazed. If you’re a light sleeper like me the road noise might be an issue. I resorted to earplugs until the early hours, then from 3am it did quiet down.

An older style motel however very roomy and very clean. Comfortable bed, bsth and shower. Full kitchen. Staff very friendly. On SH1 route but didn't notice traffic at night. Good location for walking to beach area. Food shops nearby include Paknsave.

Hotel standard was very good, spotlessly clean with all the facilities that could be needed. However if you are sensitive to road noise, take care, this is situated on SH1 and the traffic noise is continuous 24 hrs, didn't get much sleep either night that we stayed there.
