Let me begin by saying that the staff was extremely friendly and understanding in all of our dealings with them concerning our experience at the Elk Antler Inn. I very much appreciated their attitude and willingness to work with us. We were traveling to a camp north of Yellowstone and were going to meet another family in Thermopolis and stay at the Elk Antler Inn. We arrived and went to our room. Immediately we noticed a terrible smell. I went into the bathroom and opened the toilet only to find that someone had dedicated in the toilet and it was still sitting in there and seemed to have been for a long time. Looking around I noticed the bathroom had not been cleaned. I went to the front desk and they immediately sent someone to clean the bathroom and offered to take 25% off our bill. We decided to give it a try since they were so apologetic. However, I then tried to turn on the air conditioner which would not turn on. I noticed that the air conditioner was covered in a coat of greasy dirt and then noticed that all the floorboards were also covered in dirt and filth. It was also obvious the carpets had not been cleaned in a long while. Of course, once you start seeing those things you just start seeing item after item that needed attention. The furniture was all beat up and worn out, it appeared that the top bunk in the room the sheets had not been changed. At this point, we decided we could not stay with our three kids and we would need to drive on to Cody to find another hotel. I told the people at the front desk we would not be staying and that our friends on their way would not be staying either. They were very apologetic and understanding which again I appreciated. This looks like a neat little inn but it is in desperate need of a deep cleaning.
