Mantra Koodam Kumbakonam - a CGH Earth Experience

Beautiful resort nestled on the outskirts of Kumbakonam. Ambiance of the resort is unparalleled. Big rooms, bigger bathrooms. The resort is frequented by Peacocks. Great food at the restaurant and wonderful ambience for the evening tea and morning tea. Very photogenic and laid back place.

There's a peacock on the premises. This peacock is not scared of guests, so I could photograph it from several angles. Mantra Koodam is somewhat like this peacock. With just a day's stay, I got a close-up view of what it has to offer. Everything it offers, from the room to the facilities, food, and people, is perfect - as perfect as its temples, which date back to the 12th century CE, when the Cholas, Pallavas, or the Thanjavur Nayaks newly constructed them.

I'm not much of a reviewer, however, I can say that there is no other place in Kumbakonam that is more beautifully put together for you to spend a perfect weekend away from the hustle and bustle. An outdoor tea shop that they have prepared for those who want to experience a village tea shop is an experience worth mentioning. I have forgotten the name of the chef but the taste of the food eaten there is still on the tip of my tongue. A suggestion is added that it would be better if there is a small play area for children. Happy to say, next time we come to Kumbakonam, we will definitely stay at Mantra koodam.

We booked a large villa Ilam for 2 nights. The villa is a stand alone one with a large room that includes the living room , a bathroom indoor and outdoor but wc not separated. There is no door between the indoor/outdoor of the bathroom . This is not enjoyable as it is overheated as well the outdoor shower is small so useless. The bathroom needs a makeover. This resort is nice for families with children as there are many activities organised with a focus on the local culture which is great. The food is not exceptional, as well there is no bar. No alcohol served . We were not allowed to bring our own wine at the restaurant as other guest before were obviously allowed. We adapted but it seems this rule needs to be clarified. Also the resort can be noisy if you are a light sleeper as peacocks scream at night as well . Despite the noise of the AC inside our villa, we could clearly hear the noises all night which does not contribute to a calm environment . The garden and alleys need some cleaning Temperatures were high while staying. It would be good to install a fan on the villa’s terrace.

What a beautiful hotel. The road to the resort is a bit bad but once you turn into the gates wow. Beautiful grounds with massive villas. The outdoor bathrooms are stunning. Peacocks wandering around. You truly feel at one with nature the restaurant was great with delicious options. We only were here for one night but it was worth it. 2 nights would be ideal. An amazing place. Make sure your driver has insect spray as they stay in the jungle proper not in the grounds. It would be nice if the owners considered this.

We stoped at Mantra Koodam on our way to Puduchery for lunch. The ambience was excellent and the staffs were so helpful and kind. Restaurent look amazing and they have an elaborate menu and the foods were authentic. Thank you very much for your hospitality.
