Recently stayed here for the night when attending a wedding at nearby Pryors Hayes. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean and had all you need. We had a drink and some food in the bar downstairs, nice vibe and good food..the breakfast had a great selection to choose from and all freshly cooked. Would definitely recommend.

New management team since March 2024 so any reviews prior to that will not be relevant. We booked 3 rooms and I have to say the customer service was second to none - nothing was too much trouble. We had breakfast and evening meal and both were cooked fresh and very good. They were also very accommodating of dietary requirements which makes for such a nice stay when you have these issues. We travelled into Chester the next day and the team were super helpful with travel suggestions which made it a very easy and stress free trip. The only thing that could have been better was the water pressure in my shower however the others in our group were more than happy with theirs. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here over the weekend as attending a wedding nearby and enjoyed everything from start to finish. Easy check-in, the room was spacious with a powerful hairdryer, mini fridge, tea, coffee ect and bathroom was a good size with plenty of hot water and lots of amenities, beds were so comfy and everywhere was spotless, we had a lovely view of the village. Breakfast was so tasty, everything cooked perfectly and a small traditional was quite large and very filling. If that was your son staffing the dining room this morning he is a credit to you both, he was so polite and professional. Kenny, Cath EVERY member of the team were fabulous and went above and beyond. We had a problem with a taxi co. it was instantly sorted out, thank you. Well done on making The George and Dragon and lovely place to visit Most definitely would recommend even if just popping in for a drink.

A brilliant place to stay Host and staff cant do enough for you,dinner was very good a huge gammon steak and all the trimmings, Breakfast was very good and more than enough to set you up for the day. The room was just the right size very nicely decorated with all the things you need ,well worth a visit cant wait till we go again

A lovely friendly pub and bed and breakfast with comfortable facilities in a period building. Great hosts and a really positive stay The village itself has some lovely places to eat and drink as well as visiting some childhood landmarks Highly recommended for a quiet and local pub

We had our flyball club Christmas meal here on 6th December 2023. Fifteen of us enjoyed a lovely, relaxed meal with good sized portions and great service from friendly staff. We pre-ordered our food (as there were 15 of us) from the Christmas menu and without exception everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. The meals arrived together and the food was hot and fresh. Thank you to Kenny and Kath and their family who have worked tirelessly to turn this pub into a lovely venue and deserve much credit. It is a real asset to the village and is very popular.

Stumbled across this little gem, whilst looking for a nice breakfast for the family. Couldn’t fault anything! Nice relaxed atmosphere, staff were friendly and the guy serving behind the bar (unfortunately didn’t get his name) was very accommodating and very pleasant. Breakfast was superb! Nicest breakfast we have had out, along with the white hot chocolate 😊 Would highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Met friends today for lunch with a baby. Staff extremely welcoming & accommodating. Fish & chips amazing-good choice of lunch menu very reasonable priced.will be going again very soon Ample parking in Tarvin 15mins from Chester

We stumbled across the George & Dragon in Tarvin whilst walking the dog as we were looking for a relaxing dog friendly pub for a quick bite to eat. First impressions were good and on asking about where we could sit with the dog we were pleasantly surprised to find out how dog friendly this pub is, basically anywhere except the restaurant. The staff here were super helpful and friendly and looked after us efficiently without being overbearing - a difficult balance to get right. We ordered a couple of drinks and some food from the lunch menu which arrived quickly and was hot, fresh from the kitchen. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming and we would certainly visit again if we are in the area.
