Hotel Arco Iris

We stayed at the hotel for a few days with our 6 year old daughter. It's a small and quiet hotel about 10 min walk to the town, with a nice open air lobby, free delicious breakfast and helpful, kind, and friendly staff. Would recommend if you are looking for a quiet oasis removed from the craziness of Tamarindo. A couple of things that would have made it easier for a family with young kids: having a restaurant on - site, open for lunch/dinner and some board games to hang out in the common area.

During my recent getaway to Costa Rica, I had the pleasure of staying at Arco Iris Tamarindo, where the staff's warmth and attentiveness to detail exceeded all expectations. From the moment we began the booking process and communication for transportation from the hotel, Henry Herrera was informative, reliable and helpful. When we arrived, we were greeted and taken care of even though it was a very late evening arrival. The staff had arranged for us to arrive late and made it a seamless experience for check-in. Whether it was offering personalized recommendations for exploring the area or attending to any request with efficiency and grace, the hotel staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and cared for. Moreover, the lodging experience at Arco Iris Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The accommodations seamlessly blended luxurious comfort with the natural beauty of Costa Rica, providing a tranquil sanctuary to unwind after adventurous days exploring the rainforests and beaches. From the relaxing pool area to the boutique and comfortable vibe of the hotel overall, and the thoughtful amenities provided, every aspect of my stay was meticulously curated to ensure a truly unforgettable experience. The hotel has a central location in Tamarindo with so many restaurants, bars and shops in walking distance. There is also a grocery store, pharmacy and a bank/ATMs directly next door which makes it so convenient. There’s also a security guard on site who is very friendly and helpful as we did some sightseeing late into the night. Henry helped us book all of our local travel and excursions and connected us with an amazing local guide and transportation service. Henry even coordinated a to go breakfast for the days we left the hotel early for activities and coordinated retrieval of some items we had left behind which was extremely thoughtful and attentive. We definitely felt the hospitality of a boutique hotel versus one of the larger ones in the Tamarindo area. We will definitely be coming back to Arco Iris Hotel for any of our future visits to Costa Rica. Thank you, Henry and staff!

The breakfast was the best in town and it was free. The pool was kept clean every day, and the rooms were also cleaned every day. It was not in a remote location, and getting lunch, dinner, and souvenirs was easy. The hotel had many activities that you could book and they were all enjoyable.

We were looking for somewhere to relax, stretch out and chill after a two week tour of Costa Rica with lots of early starts and travelling. Arco Iris filled the bill perfectly. We had a one bedroom bungalow which was air conditioned and well equipped for a supposedly 3 star Hotel and was only a few metres from the pool. The Hotel itself is quiet but only a few minutes from the main part of town. There’s a decent supermarket close by too. We were able to have a walk in the morning, lunch, then shelter from the heat of the day by the pool before heading back to the beach for a swim and watch sunset. Breakfasts were excellent, freshly made to order and filling. Staff were helpful and very friendly. We’d be very happy to stay here again.

Fantastic hotel! The staff are all wonderful. The location is perfect very short walk to everything. The breakfast was delicious and the pool is the perfect place to lounge around and relax. And they booked all my excursions for my weeks stay with transportation to each one. Truly a wonderful boutique hotel.

My partner and I wanted a hotel in Tamarindo that was far enough away from the night scene, yet within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, on the smaller side, with a pool, that also offered breakfast. Hotel Arco Iris was the perfect fit for us down to the cleanliness of the room and entire lush property, the comfort of the mattress, beautiful pool area, and the delicious breakfast options. Richard, the owner, and his entire staff were pleasant, accommodating, attentive to our every need during our two week holiday. Henry and Justin booked our tours, transports, always with a smile, while Maria cooked delicious meals every morning served by smiling Steven or singing Melanie. It’s about 1.2 km to tamarindo beach, about 15 min walk, partly through busy, very dusty and dangerous road, which bothers me the most, you need to go through this dusty road to reach the nearby supermarket, about 400 meters. the room doesn’t have the day curtains, you will just have to use the night curtains 24 h, in order to have privacy. Small bathroom. Hotel has mosque Repellent, if you need to.

Arco Iris is a lovely hotel in Tamarindo, just a short walk to the beach, local restaurants and shops. Great breakfasts (my favourite was poached egg & avocado on ciabatta). Nice pool with loungers. There was a misunderstanding over our booking which the Manager (Richard) sorted out quickly ensuring we had suitable accommodation.

Clean, quiet, well maintained property, exactly as advertised. Owner is very attentive as are desk staff Justine and Henry. Location is excellent very close to town shops, beach bars, surrounded by restaurants. Great breakfast selection, great table service. Short walk to the beach. Area very safe to walk around at night.
