my recent stay at Stoke Poges hotel on August 10th. Upon arrival at 9:15 PM, we were assigned a garden room in a state of disrepair. The windows were wide open, and when we attempted to close them, we found the wooden frames rotten and the room freezing cold. The room smelled strongly of dampness, and we noticed a large damp patch on the wall. Additionally, the floors were severely damaged, with large chips of wood missing. We immediately reported these issues to the receptionist, who was unhelpful and insisted there were no other available rooms. After requesting to speak with a manager, we were told there were indeed no other rooms available and were advised to find accommodation at another hotel. Considering we had traveled 200 miles and it was already 10 PM, this was an unacceptable suggestion. Eventually, the receptionist offered us another room, which was also in poor condition. That night, we found the bedsheets damp, and due to exhaustion, we resorted to using our own clothes as covers. Consequently, we did not sleep at all that night. This experience was far below the standard I expected from Stoke Poges Hotel. I requested a full refund for this stay and was declined. Anyone thinking of staying at this hotel please think twice.
