Travelled a long way from Rhyl (North Wales) Currently on day 5 of 7 with my husband and two daughters age 12 and 7 years. We booked a diamond hot tub lodge which is lovely, to a very high standard and was very clean. Check in was easy. We have had squirrels coming to our lodge everyday for monkey nuts. Staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. I didn’t get her name but thank you to the lady on reception who helped my sister by moving her family to a lodge closer to the complex due to a family member having walking difficulties. I would like to thank Heather, Kelsi and Dane for giving my girls amazing memories that they will remember for a long time. They have loved the entertainment! I will definitely be returning to St Ives Holiday Village again and I will also be recommending it to family and friends. Thanks again to all staff for giving us an amazing holiday! Clare, Martyn, Megan and Snow

We have just returned from a Monday - Friday stay, we had a 2 bed platinum lodge for 4 people (3 adults 1 child) The Lodge was fabulous, very spacious, clean and modern with all the basic utensils. There was even a washing machine which was a pleasant surprise. The hot tub was a real highlight. The only thing that was a disappointment was the beds, very uncomfortable with a low quality mattress. The children’s activities/entertainment were fantastic our 4 year old had a jam packed itinerary each day. The staff were very attentive to the little ones. Swimming was easy to book and although the pool is a little on the small side it was great that they provided floats/balls. (No changing rooms though which wasn’t a massive issue and if you book the 9:00am slot you may have to wait in a queue outside for a bit - not ideal) That being said we had a fab stay, our 4 year old loved it and we would consider returning again next year (if the mattresses are upgraded)

Well where do I start. We stayed from the 14th to the 21st September. This was our 4th holiday at the park and as usual a very warm welcome from Shirley on reception. As our Lodge wasn't ready we took a walkabout to see the improvements that had been implemented since our last trip and we were not disappointed. When our Lodge was ready again we were not disappointed. Nice and clean as usual with no complaints about anything. The Manageress Christina is second to none. Any issues we have ever had have been dealt with complete professionalism and to our 100% satisfaction. We are already looking forward to our 2025 holiday here for 2 weeks in September.

So I've stayed in many lodges over the years so hopefully I can give a true reflection on this lodge. We now have 2 small dogs in the family so it can be hard finding a nicer lodge with a hot tub at a decent price. I paid £949 Mon-Fri which is the most I’ve ever paid but we have a 10-year-old so the school holidays was our only option. We also wanted to see Cornwall as it’s a first for my partner and child. Check in was at 2pm which is fine since we didn’t arrive until later. If I book a hot tub then I specifically book a lodge where the tub is fenced in with the lodge itself so that the dogs can roam free whilst we enjoy the soak as my Frenchie would scream if we were separated lol (Yes its happened before) John Fowler website failed to show any photos other then computer generated images showing none of the outside but the description did say the decking was fenced in. So, I took a gamble and it paid off! You can see from my photos the tub and decking area is completely fence in and strangely its even triple gated so you can actually lock the dogs in three different areas. The lodge itself was pretty much brand new so it still had a new smell to it and no dogy smell. It was one bedroom, one bathroom and a kitchen lounge with pull out sofa. They call it a micro lodge for a reason as its very small and spaces are tight. I only just fit (6ft 1) on the toilet as the bathroom is pretty cramped. Our child had to sleep on the pull-out sofa which pretty much filled the living room / kitchen. The décor is nice and modern and all in all it’s a nice lodge. I’m not sure why but I have a feeling the fixtures and fittings felt cheap so I’m not sure how these lodges will stand the test of time especially with dogs. The hot tub is superb and very hot! Just how I like it. The decking is nice and there is some seating space to one side. The only issue is that there is no storage so everything just gets completely wet as the leave the cushions on the seats. Pretty much all the lodges on the park are inside a forest so you don’t get much sunshine if any at all. You get some shelter from the rain but the drops falling off the trees are just as big. This did not bother me at all in the hot tub. The falling leaves are everywhere and no one seems to come and clear any away. CONS If you are going as a couple, then I would say the lodge is great! The bed in the bedroom is very nice and I experienced no back pain. There is a lack of storage in the lodge so if you are more than two people then I’d say its probably too tight. It means the third persons stuff will be all over the living room. Given that the location is close the sea and many people go to Cornwall for the seaside experience, it’s difficult to store any gear and keep it dry. We had rain and winds which meant the lodge was constantly wet as there is no canopy over the main door, so you travel all the water from the decking inside. Even our wet jackets pretty much soaked the lodge since its pretty small.

We’ve just come back from a great week at st.Ives holiday village. We stayed in a Gold detached bungalow with two kids. The kids entertainment was great. The kids loved the Foxy disco. We also attended several of the 10am kids clubs and I have to say they were brilliant. Very well organised and great fun for the kids. The science one was a real hit. The entertainment staff were brilliant, very impressed with all of them. The swimming pool was good. A little run down maybe but clean and with a slide. You had to be on it with booking on the app as sessions get booked up pretty quickly. We didn’t eat on site but used the shop a couple of times. It quite small but there is a Asda in Hayle that’s a 10 min drive away. The accommodation was very clean and well presented. The shower wasn’t very powerful but you can make do for a week. My only negative would be the beds/mattresses. The double bed was actually broken when we arrived and sagging in the middle. We reported it to reception and they fixed it that day. Looking at the frame it was pretty flimsy. We are not a large couple and it didn’t feel sturdy with us on it. The mattress was also very old and really needs updating. The room was very small. You couldn’t walk round the bed as the corner met the wardrobe, You have to step over the bed. In the twin room one mattress was great and the other was awful. To be point we had to put a self inflate camping mat on the bed. Our 8 year old (who weights 3 stone) sank to the bottom of the mattress to the bed, absolutely no support. He found it very hard to sleep on so an older kid wouldn’t have a chance. The location of the site is good for visiting attractions. Most are about a 30min to an hours drive. We would definitely come back again, just bring some mattress toppers with us next time.

This will sound bizarre giving this a good rating then explaining the issues. So to explain we got the lodge at half price through hoseasons. If we had paid the full price we wouldn’t be happy. So we are staying in lodge 72 one of the top three lodges on park and has a hot tub. This is a diamond lodge so alledgedly top spec. From the outside it looks good as we are told on booking in is the only grey one on site. Makes it easy to find which is what others found difficult as the site is numbers only not set into areas so people lose patients dump the car and walk trying to find their accommodation causing traffic mayhem. So our lodge on walking up had a drain pipe hanging off. Post tops if the decking either missing or some delightful previous guests have melted them with cigarettes. The gates that according to the book must stay closed re safety of kids round hot tub. Both can’t close. The decking is stained brown. From rusting metal above it in side of wall. Inside is very comfortable well set out. Decor is good and tvs in bedrooms is handy with the kids. Starting in the living area the sofa is scratched and the pillow parts are losing their pump so to speak but in general is comfortable. The two patio doors to the front decking. The left one will not unlock the keys don’t work so unable to open them at all. The right pair to the table outside part. The right hand door opens but the left is locked shut and the barrel lock slides out the door frame if you try to open . The kitchen has a large dishwasher excellent for a family and would love to use it but well equipped as it says on hoseasons. You get a set of four plates and bowls. Four knives and forks so you end up washing up after each meal. Only four glasses as well which is weird. Another set will be handy. No pinchers in kitchen to turn your sausages in the morning or oven gloves. Our mistake as we usually bring one. If using the lodge I’d reccomend a crash hat if cooking. This is due to the extractor hood that has previous occupants cooking fat dripping from the filters. The hood sticks out of the kitchen cupboards so when you chop at the kitchen side turn and if you’re over 5ft8 you will sink your head on the extractor hood. The bedrooms are lovely decorated and basic but fine for a lodge. Main bathroom is ok but in need of a deep clean. En-suite has mould on the wall to the side of the shower see the photos. This is spreading into the floor. They are aware as the cleaners have bleached it trying to hide the damp smell. Luckily it’s warm so windows are open. A door handle was hanging off and a radiator cover hanging off. The coffee machine is a nice touch with loads of pods for it. It can’t use it as it’s in desperate need of a clean and needs de scaling and won’t work as a result. There are no cupboards in bathrooms so you end up with loads of wash bags on the floor. I reported a few of the issues and they came out the band sorted the drain pipe and the doo

We have just spent the last 2 weeks at St Ives Holiday Village, this site is fabulous, we had a platinum 2 bed lodge, exceptionally clean, plenty of cutlery utensils, dishwasher, washing machine, 2 ensuite bedrooms, one with shower, one with bath and shower over. both with tvs, WiFi throughout so enabling us to keep in contact with family quiet location, towards bottom of park, Meghan in restaurant so helpful and polite, young lady in bar, sorry, didn't catch name, originally from Newbury, really polite and friendly. Amazing to see how hard groundsman work and wildlife a pleasure to watch every day. Such a pretty site with tubs of flowers all around. Will definitely return.
