The Mughal Palace Houseboat

This is the worst place in srinagar to stay. These people are complete scammers and leave no stone unturned to scam you at any possible cost. Had the worst possible stay. Was threatened by the single staff that they have and the owner. They provided broken chair during dining due to which one of my family member fell down and just avoided serious injuries(food quality and price is a separate scam here--will not talk about it). Instead of being apologetic they said you guys have broken the chair and we will view the CCTV footage (which ofcourse they never shared with us). Food quality is abysmal to say the least and staff is untrained and arrogant. if you point out their mistake they threaten you ("mai btata hu tereko" were their exact words to my parents) Avoid this place at all costs.

I have never been to such a horrible house boat. Why do they even call it a house boat. Horrible food, entire night there was no current, security was 0 my 3 year old was so scared as there was no current. They will exaggerate things and say it’s the best house boat as they have well equipped facilities AC blah blah blah but there will be no current to use it. Moreover it was full of mosquitoes. And the boat is back of the beyond. When I complained about the current issue they said first time it happened and the same issue happened with my friend too. Also the water they serve while giving for will be of extra cost. I paid 10k for the horrible experience.

Lovely breathtaking serene view from the Deck.Houseboat very tastefully and colourfully decorated. Clean and luxurious bedroom and bathroom with bathtub and shower cubicle. Excellent service.Nice food. Overall out of world experience.

Must try their suit room... luxurious stay... owner is very cooperative.. and Azar bhai also... their food is also delicious... try nadru ki sabji ...authentic kashmiri food...view is also amazing..u can do breakfast on terrace...excellent view

1. Location of house boat is amazing - Near Ghat 19A (Houseboats accessible through ghats 15 to 20 are best anyways). Quaint stay 2. Interiors of the houseboat are nicely done and gives you a royal experience 3. Rooms are very well maintained and absolutely clean. 4. Staff are polite and courteous. Nadeem as owner is very interesting to interact with. 5. Overall - Slightly overpriced (as you can get a 4 star hotel at the same price) but an experience to cherish for lifetime. Suggestion for improvement: Experience could be better if the staff does not worry about making extra bucks from commission from shikaras or other vendors and instead offer seamless right-priced arrangements for these things. Instead of asking 100 rupees one way per trip to ghat, they could offer it complementary (assumption is guests are nice enough not to overdo this facility). These small and simple things enhances ones experience.
