Courtyard Springfield Downtown

Staff was friendly but … was told multiple times upon checking in that cleaning services would only be provided if asked for the night before. Our room was filthy with even bed sheets with blood stains. Bathroom floor filthy. Shower had rust around fixtures. Tried to request service the night before - was hard to find anyone at front desk after 2100 or so to request. Elevators were filthy with what appeared to be poor attempts to wipe what could be beautiful stainless interior doors. Bar was good. Restaurant was okay but big $$ for what you’d expect. Landscaping was well attended to.

Clean rooms and common areas with a friendly, efficient staff. We stayed here one night for a function, while there were two other functions going on. The hotel was full but we didn't notice. It was quiet, the wifi didn't slow down and the staff kept everything running smoothly. There was a nice buffet for breakfast. There was a charge, but the selection was good and the food tasty. Evidently there is an a la carte menu as well, but I didn't look at it.

Very nice hotel. Pretty town and good location. Can't see hotel signs from the street so had to get out and go in to see if we were in the right spot. We were pleased with everything. People at front desk were friendly and very nice to other staff which always leaves me with a warm feeling about a place. Very clean. On site restaurant was good. We ordered room service. Friendly service and very tasty food with good options for vegetarians.

Rooms are clean, staff is helpful and friendly, and dinner food is good. The room was fine but one thing that no review has mentioned is that all toilets in the rooms are child size - 14” above the floor. Otherwise the accommodations are nice and recommended. We had four others over for dinner at the Marriott one evening and the food (drinks, appetizers, entrees, desserts, wine) and service were good (much better than the Stella Bleu restaurant down the street). The Marriott also has a nice outdoor area for drinks and/or dining. Other food recommendation is the waffle place across the street at the Co Hatch building. Co Hatch is worth checking out for other food options as well.

Had to wait to get my semi unloaded, my wife and 4 year old came to visit while I was sitting. Called and got a reservation right away. My child had a blast in the pool, the room and entire hotel was very clean and well kept. The room had enough space to pull the roll out table out to have a nice sit down dinner together and the beds were very comfortable. Wish I had time to spend another night

Decent hotel in Springfield Ohio. Based on area, is probably the best lodging in town. Pros: I needed to be in Springfield, hotel has good downtown location and easily accessible to anywhere in town. Free parking. Good restaurants within walking distance. Bed and pillows comfortable. Available morning breakfast. Guests were quiet and considerate. Cons: hotel is in need of update. Carpets are starting to see significant signs of west. Bathroom has water stains. Attention to cleaning is not present, evident in bathroom and dusting lower surfaces (bedside tables have a lower shelf that appeared to not have been wiped in months). Hotel charges for breakfast and coffee in the lobby. I will stay here again as it is the best option in the area.

The property is old and decrepit. A poor remodeling attempt was made at some point to update rooms, but old nasty bathtubs with black mold embedded in the grout doesn’t qualify as a remodel in my opinion. Hotel management tries to mask an overpowering “musty mold” smell with perfumes throughout. Perfumes are overbearing and after a one-night stay, the smell will not clear your nostrils. Ohio Edison had a scheduled power outage to fix the power source, but the hotel failed to notify their guests. Stuck on the 6th floor for 3 hours during power outage. Venturing to an exit stair, resulted in walking down rickety steel plates to an outside door. I can’t image a property that fails to notify their guests of planed power outages. A note left in your room the day before would have been well received, but the property didn’t take the initiative. Front desk staff informed me that they posted a note at the front desk the day before. However, I did not check into the property on Saturday and had no idea a scheduled power outage was going to occur. There was no phone service during the power outage, so I was unable to contact the front desk to inquire about the power outage. I did make my way to the outside via dimly lit exit stairs. I suggest better emergency lights as multiple floors had to emergency lighting. Bistro has decent food but the restaurant staff has a tendency to talk about and judge their patrons. I am a loyal Marriott “Ambassador Status” customer, but I must warn any consumer, especially Marriott Bonyoy members, about this property. In fact, this stay will most likely result in more Hilton stays. I understand all hotel chains have their share of bad properties, but this by far the worst Marriott property I have encountered in five years. Expecting a clean, odor free and updated room is too much to ask at this property. Again, consumer beware as this property fails to uphold the “Marriott standard”.

The are around the hotel is very nice with a lot of older buildings. The clock tower architecture is impressive. Walking in to the lobby we had to wait for the clerk to finish a personal conversation before we received rather curt service. The rooms were adequate. The main complaint was that on Saturday night there must have been an event that was held. There was very loud thumping music until about 2 am. I guess don’t let them book you on the 2nd floor and it might be quieter?

Stepping in the front door we knew we were going to like this hotel, staff were very accommodating and welcoming. Terry in the bar was great. The room was spotless and very comfortable. We have no complaints. Restaurant food was delicious.
