Beaches Guest House

What a beautiful boutique style guesthouse located right in the sea front with gorgeous views of the estuary. We stayed for one night in a sea view rooms with a balcony. The room was beautifully furnished and had lots of personal touches. We were greeted warmly by Lucy when we arrived and in the morning were served a delicious breakfast in the breakfast room. We would absolutely recommend this B and B and will most definitely be returning ourselves. Many thanks.

Warm & friendly welcome when we arrived. Room absolutely spotless and beautiful decor & touches throughout. We thought the honesty box for the snacks & drinks was a great idea too. Really comfy beds and pillows and nice large bathroom. Couldn’t ask for more for a one night stay.

This was my second stay at Beaches but this time as a solo guest while visiting family and friends in Southend. The house was immaculately presented and I was very well looked after by Tina and Richard in the absence of Jo and Buzz who were away for a few days. I booked a single room at the back of the building. This was cosy and comfortable and had everything I needed for a pleasant three day stay. Breakfast was freshly prepared to order and made a pleasant change from the standard "Full English". Thank you for your very kind hospitality and I hope to see you again towards the end of the year.

A lovely seafront boutique guest house with tasteful decor and d a homely feel. Greeted by Buzz who showed us the lovely room overlooking the sea, nice spacious room with a comfortable bed and all the amenities you need. Breakfast was lovely and all cooked to order, staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this guest house and thank you Jo and Buzz for a lovely stay we will be returning when in Southend.

I loved my short stay at Beaches on the seafront in Southend in early July 2024. Our host was welcoming, helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was good, coffee kept coming. I had a small room ( the last one left) but my mother had a large bed room and en suite with wonderful sea views. We walked along the front with many good places for snacks and meals available within a few hundred metres. My only regret was that my visit was so short. First excuse, I’ll be back. Thanks you for helping a tough family funeral gathering with your worry free hosting.

We stayed here for a couple nights, as we had arranged to meet up with a long lost cousin from Australia, who was stopping over with a friend in Southend. The Beaches Guest House was an ideal location, nestling right along the sea front in Thorpe Bay. We were so surprised to discover that the area was remarkably quiet and we managed to park right outside and to our astonishment, parking was free! We also found plenty of local places to eat in the evening. We chose a twin bedded room which was situated at the back of the house, so we wouldn't encounter any road noise and it was a delight. Wherever we go, we always pack everything but the kitchen sink, but on arrival, we realised that our hosts Jo and Buzz had thought of everything and supplied it too. Breakfast was delicious and very unique. But don't take our word for it, try it for yourselves if you're heading that way. Sadly, though, after we departed Southend we travelled onto Saffron Walden as we wanted to visit Audley End but unfortunately our next night's accommodation didn't even come close to our enjoyable stay at Beaches. But that's another story! We wanted to thank you Jo and Buzz for helping to make our re-union trip to Southend so enjoyable. Please do keep up the good work.

The attention to detail in this place was second to none, the hosts were amazing, so kind, welcoming and helpful, the whole place is spotless, the beds were very comfortable, the view and location were awesome, the breakfast was one of the tastiest I've ever had, if you get a chance I highly recommend staying here, I will definitely be going back.

Spent a very comfortable night at the Beaches. The owners were really friendly and made us feel very welcome. The house felt warm and cosy, good bed, nice shower, decor and soft furnishings were beautiful. Balcony was an added bonus… Breakfast was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Good location, free parking on the road outside. We will be back! Thank you
