Resthaven Tahoe

The Check-in experience was horrible. The place looked deserted. The vibe of the place felt sketchy to me. I did not have a good feeling for the place, so much so that I just left and went to find another place that was more suitable.

This is a motel, not a resort. It is not a bad motel - it is clean and the rooms are decently sized. They have self checkin and leave a welcome basket. The beds are comfortable, the showers work fine albeit at low pressure. And if you pay for and expect a motel, you would not be disappointed. However. That pier you saw on the website? I am sure it exists, but not anywhere near this place. Your room will have a view of a parking lot - either yours or one of the ones next door. The firepit does exist - in the parking lot. Unfortunately, we paid resort prices and got a decent motel.

We traveled from the uk to get married in Tahoe and stayed here for 5 nights. Mia who I spoke with multiple times was kind enough to upgrade us to a bigger room to celebrate the occasion. We were also given a bottle of Prosecco which was beyond kind. The rooms are lovley, the staff very good at their job and lovley to chat too/ very friendly. We can’t wait to stay at resthaven again in the future. The rooms are lovley and clean the location is amazing for heavenly and also travelling to places like emerald bay and Tahoe city.

Resthaven Tahoe met and exceeded our expectations. The location is right across the street from the state line and within walking distance from the casinos, Heavenly Village, and lots of other amenities. The rooms and amenities were worth a lot more than what was charged. We highly recommend Resthaven Tahoe and will stay there on our next trip to Tahoe.

I strongly advise AVOIDING THIS PLACE like the plague. I would rather pay more at other places than here - the extra $50 savings compared to other nearby places is simply not worth it. I am a Bay Area local and have been coming to Tahoe for YEARS and have stayed at almost every spot in the area and this has been the worst experience. The property is owned by a minority owned investment company (Bay Street Capital) which I wanted to support but honestly, totally turned off to any of their other properties. You can tell they are doing their best to be as cheap as possible. I had a family member that ended up in the hospital WAY before my reservation day. I begged for some understanding about either rebooking or cancelling - keep in mind, this was not a cheap reservation, it's high season, and there was PLENTY of opportunity/time to get rebooked. In the very rare occasions that this has happened, EVERY other hotel has extended their empathy. This place has outright refused - they want BOTH my cancellation money and the ability to get another booking during high season. There is NO ONE you can talk to. Forget the reviews about how run down the place is - AND how difficult it is to get in - the absolute refusal to have any flexibility is just greedy. There are a TON of other places around it - save yourself some grief. Spend the extra dollars and save yourself from an absolute waste of time and money trying this place out.

While we only stay for a few hours it was a nice experience. the main room is cozy with a kitchen to make a nice meal with food you bought. It is really quiet at night, with that said, it is about a five minute walk to the lake and not far from other attractions like ice skating rink.

The accommodation had not been cleaned before I arrived. The bathroom showed stains of the previous guests' shower gel, the refrigerator was covered in dog hair, inside and outside. The bedsheets were wrinkly as if someone had already slept in it and had stains on both the duvet cover as well as the pillows. Of course there were hair on the bed as well. The biggest issue though is the LACK OF SAFETY provided in this room specifically (#18). When I entered the room, the window was opened. It was a sliding window but the sliding mechanism was stuck so I couldn't close it. Same goes for the blinds that were stuck half-way leaving me no privacy at all. There was a small roof underneath the window, the room was on the first floor (second floor in american way of counting) and ANYBODY COULD HAVE EASILY ENTERED THE ROOM FROM OUTSIDE! Since I was travelling by myself I did not want to stay in this accommodation any second longer however, it was almost midnight when I arrived so I decided to stay for one of the three originally booked nights and look for an alternative the next morning. I IMMEDIATELY REPORTED my dissatisfaction not even half an hour after I arrived and was initially GUARANTEED to be refunded by their "guest relations team". The whole morning the next day I spent finding an alternative accommodation that was within my budget, considering I would have to wait for the refund of the remaining two nights. Ever since I have contacted them multiple times and the only response I get is that they have to forward the issue to management who will get back to me. Of course nobody has ever gotten back to me. I also contacted *********** customer service who said they haven't heard from the accommodation staff. Which is also the same thing that the accommodation staff says about *********** customer service. After a month of trying to find a solution I finally decided to publish this review.

Booked my room in December 2022 for an annual trip to Tahoe with my son for the Celebrity Golf Tournament. Tickets already purchased. I called a week prior to my arrival to verify my reservation and all was good. Five days before my arrival I got a call saying that my room had maintenance issues and therefore they needed to cancel my reservation. I booked in DECEMBER! They couldn't give me one of the other rooms that someone had booked after me? No, because they paid $1200 for the weekend and I paid $378 back in December. Come to find out my neighbors best friend had the EXACT same issue with the Resthaven for this weekend and they had gotten a great deal on their room as well. I was offered a 15% discount on a future stay for my inconvenience. I am out hundreds of dollars! When money comes before having great annual renters, its a crying shame.

We loved the time spent in Resthaven, Tahoe. Perfect Location - near to Heavenly Gondola and 2 mins to one of the best beaches in Tahoe. We walked to the downtown for shopping and dining. Rooms are small but quite comfortable with nice beds. Enjoyed the stay throughout. Staff was very friendly and we often used the lounge for get togethers and kichen for heating up meals and for Coffee. We had a great time at night around the firepit. We will visit again.
