Superb hotel. Stunning architecture. Huge rooms! Lovely balcony outside rooms. Nice eating area & good food. Great pool. Very friendly attentive staff. Nice ambiance in local village - ox wagon ride a must! Cooking lessons at 4pm. Guided walk at 5pm

Just an amazing experience and highly recommended, especially take the guide who will ensure your holiday is fabulous. We would love to return. Garden breakfast the best! beautiful pool area - hard to tear yourself away but do take as many outside visits as possible!

A wonderful stay at CG Earth Visalam . The team is so caring , kind and friendly . Everything about the stay was memorable and soaked in the flavours of Royal chettinad yet had the humbleness of the chettinad culture . The highlight of the trip is the early morning cycling tour with Siva from CG Earth . An amazing experience to soak in the calmness of the country side . Siva takes good care to explain the route , the details of the historical facts and also paces it adequately for us to soak in the natural surroundings . Thank you Siva and CGEarth team

An all-around excellent heritage hotel in a beautiful village. Walk and cycle tours highly recommended to get full sense of village life, rich countryside and fascinating history of the palatial homes. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel restaurant food delicious.

A renovated Chettinad mansion with spacious rooms and refurbished common areas. It feels like stepping back into the 19 century. Delicious food and super friendly staff. We stayed 3 nights and the extra time was a great way to enjoy the hotel. The pool was in a separate courtyard and perfect after a morning exploring. Highlight was the tours with Shiva. We went on two bike tours and also the village walking tour. The history in Chettinad is incredible and Shiva brings this to life while also adding his local knowledge. A must for any staying here. Thanks also to Geetah for her morning smile and tasty filter coffee.

Our stay at Visalam was a tranquil and peaceful experience. The food experience, headed by Chef Karthik was superb. The rooms were clean and amenities were excellent. The service team of Satishkumar was attentive and kind and provided caring personalized service. We will be back. Thank you!

A art deco home in Chettinad area. Visalam is a wonder - huge rooms, carefully preserved and a balanced mix of the old and the new. While the property itself is amazing it is the staff at Visalam that gives you an experience like none other.Sam the manager, Mohan at the front desk taking care of each and every need, Vimal at the pool, geeta and laxmi with the coffee, vignesh from housekeeping, Murali ,Satish,Sugandhi and Chef Karthik ( and I am sure I am missing a lot of names) at F&B. Two well crafted experiences - Kavitha walking us through Chettinad history, taking us through opulence like none other and stories about Chettinad life (loved the lunch at Priya Mess Karaikudi) and then Siva taking us for an early morning sunrise visit to Narthamalai - a gorgeous 7th century Shiva temple and a brilliant sunrise. I cannot recommed Visalam enough- CGH has done an amazing job providing a modern stay without compromising the experience of staying in a Chettiar Mansion

Amazing home style hotel. Felt very much like a home from home albeit a luxury one. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. An authentic experience where you feel like you have stepped into an oasis of calm and serenity with a warm welcoming atmosphere
