I've recently returned from a 2 night stay at the Royal I was allocated room #1, which was upstairs at the front of the hotel. The room was not large, but I expected that. Everything appeared very clean and well presented. The double bed was very comfortable as we're the 4 pillows. There was a small fridge, adequately sized wardrobe, desk and chair. The aircon worked very well, it was hot outside but I had the aircon on 24 degrees with the fan set to low and at times I had to turn it off as I was getting cold. Just outside my door was a tea/ coffee station with a kettle and microwave, very handy. About 3 meters to the left were 2 separate shower rooms. Down the end of the hallway were 2 separate toilets and also a men's toilet, which also had a shower. Also down this end was the entry to the balcony which had a lively view over the park across the road ( as did my room). The pub downstairs is very comfortable and well patronised with friendly staff and great food. There is also a beer garden and drive through bottle shop. When exiting the hotel to the left there is Kentucky fried chicken a short distance down the road and further down is Macdonalds and Hungry Jack's. To the right is BWS ,and outside BWS there is also a bus stop where buses 402, 403 and 404 will take you to the shopping mall, which is otherwise about a 20 minute walk away. I was aware of the road noise in the front rooms. I don't think I've seen so many semi trailers before in my life and they seem to passing at all hours. I did bring earplugs but could still here them but I suppose you sort of get used to the noise.... I feel that if the front room windows were double glazed it would make a huge difference and worthy if a 5 star review The accommodation here is excellent value for money and I'd have no hesitation in recommending this property
