The Frogmill Hotel

Peaceful and Cozy.

I organized a group booking for 12 people, and we stayed for 3 nights to attend a local event. This hotel was perfect for our needs. Its Cotswold-style architecture is beautiful, and there's a lovely outdoor area for relaxing, dining, and drinking. The restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere and served delicious food. The bar, spacious and inviting, also had a great vibe. We stayed in a mix of comfy and classic rooms, both of which were ideal. The rooms were spacious, with comfortable beds and good-sized bathrooms. The hotel's quiet location ensured a good night's sleep. The staff were amazing, especially Sarah at reception and Simon in the restaurant. The team went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We were extremely happy with our experience and look forward to returning in 2025.

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Most places say they are dog friendly but The Frogmill is 100% dog friendly. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome as was our dog. The room was exceptional and we all had welcome treats, cookies for the humans and a jar of biscuits for our dog. We had breakfast on the Sunday morning and they provided sausage and bacon for your dog and they even cut it up into pieces for him. All the staff were amazing, polite, courteous and very helpful. We have already been planning our next visit

The Frogmill has a lot going for it - beautiful location, nice decor, great restaurant, lovely staff. However, this genuinely was the worst overnight stay we've ever had in a hotel. And the fact we paid £192 for the privilege added insult to injury. The room was right above the bar/restaurant and there was a ceiling-mounted speaker directly below our floor. Music was playing until 11pm and started again at 8am, waking us up. Staff were understanding in the evening when we asked them to turn it down so we could sleep, but even at the lowest volume it was audible in our room. The worst thing, though, was a pair of blokes in the room above ours coming back drunk at 1am and blasting music from their speakers - we went up to ask them nicely to turn it off and they almost immediately turned it back on again. When we went back up they were quite threatening. We then called the night number for the hotel (the reception isn't manned but a mobile number is provided for out-of-hours) and every single call went to answerphone. We only managed 2 or 3 hours sleep before the breakfast music and the cleaners (whose supply cupboard was next to our room) woke us up. If this were a chain/budget hotel I would just let it go and chalk it up to the luck of the draw, but to charge just shy of £200 for an experience like this leaves a really bitter taste in the mouth.

I always class a hotel by its pillows. The ones here are simply fabulous. That said the mattress was a big saggy at the edges but fine for 1 night. However, a great stay and lovely room, very pleasant staff and lovely cuisine. Would recommend and certainly stay again. Thanks to all the team.

We visited today for the wedding fair. What an amazing pub. What stood out for me was your customer service. Fred is amazing, real asset to your team. He went above and beyond for us. The food was lovely, salad was one of the best I've had in a pub. The venue just wasn't right for us for our wedding but we loved Fred.

We were a family of 4 adults and had a fabulous time at the Frogmill . We had rooms in the coach house after booking direct with the hotel . They were really lovely rooms 28 and 29 . The service was excellent with very friendly staff and the dinner in the evening was excellent . Our only regret was we were only staying one night but we will definitely be back xx

We visited The Frogmill Hotel at Shipton Oliffe on Saturday evening and the food was absolutely glorious, the best burger I'd ever had! The location is fabulous and we sat outside in the beautiful garden area. Despite the fact they were very busy we were served straightaway with drinks and our order was served very quickly afterwards. We are very much looking forward to our next visit.

Well only stopped for food because i've driven by so many times but never been able to, because HGV. So we got there at about 3 and were told that they were fully booked until 5:30, so we waited and had a few drinks, i had a shandy because driving. Anyway beautiful establishment but they can only afford that horrible lemonade that tastes of chemicals, if you drink shandys you'll know exactly what i mean. We were shown to a nice spot in the conservatory at around 4:30, my girlfriend had cold very bland roast chicken, she was not impressed and i had a fillet steak which wasn't cooked well done how i wanted it but tasted pretty good to be fair, kudos for the chef for trying, although i've never really understood why a fillet is £30 when it's £6 in tesco's and they're always better from tesco than any restaurant i've ever been in. Perhaps i'm a better cook than most of the places i frequent, that's sad isn't it. Anywhooo for all the money in the cotswolds you'd think they could afford to bank cash?! apparently not, they don't accept cash!! Jokes. Anyway i wouldn't go back it was alright but nowhere near the pub that The Lion Inn in trellech is. It's a shame cos it's a lovely place in beautiful surroundings. The third 'posh' place in the cotswolds that's thoroughly dissappointed both my girlfriend and I. I'll probably stay in the Wye valley for my pub outings from now on. There was a Saxophone man, he was quite good.
