La Paysanne Motel & Hotel

Lennoxville, just outside Sherbrooke was the last leg of our Veloroute Gourmande, a cycling trip to the Eastern Townships which highlight places to eat, stay and sightsee by bike. La Paysanne is on the Main Street and backs right on the Route Vert which is the route you would take if you were following the VG. Our bedroom actually backs onto the trail which was nice as you are surrounded by trees and active people on their bikes or just running/walking the trails. It's probably a nicer location than the front of the hotel which is on the main road leading into Sherbrooke. We were too tired to really care, but beds are comfortable enough. The plugs are questionable as they would sometimes work, but we were there for one night so charging our phones and bike computers were really a non-issue. Just not sure if you're needing to charge your eBike battery if it would be an issue. We had pedal bikes, so it wasn't. Showers had plenty of hot water, towels, soaps - but definitely budget, so don't expect plush towels and pillows, just a comfortable place to sleep.

• Location is close by Bishop's University which makes it ideal for commuting back and forth. It's far away of Sherbrooke city or downtown. Advisable to be motorized rather than relying on Taxi's/ Uber’s. • • Amenities are very basic. I. Room microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Had to ask why the bed was not arranged after having ‘make my room’ sign displayed on the door knob. Their answer was they offer only cleaning, no arrangement of the beds neither they change the bed sheet regardless of the period stayed. How long does it take to rearrange a bed cover? Also no food can be purchase on premises of the Motel. Need to go to near by restaurants located min 700 m away or order online.

I’m going to be honest this place was booked at the last minute and my expectations were low. We booked the family room with 3 beds. When we arrived after dark the lovely lady checked us in. The lobby is open until 10pm. I have to admit the lobby/check in area smelt funky. When we got to our room it was clean and more spacious than anticipated, looks better in real life. The beds were extremely comfortable. This isn’t a 5 star stay, but if you’re looking for a conveniently located place to sleep on a long drive it’s a great spot. Recommend you drive down the street to Bekkah’s Bakery for breakfast (delicious).

My family stayed in two rooms for two nights during the eclipse, so the motel was full! This motel was in the off season, so we didn't know what to expect. What we got were two average sized rooms with floors clean enough that my white socks didnt discolour, really comfortable beds, a sofa in each room (giving us space to put in a playpen for our baby) and staff that were really friendly and helpful and willing to give us extra coffee and sugar and (after the event) share a quick chat about our shared experience. They didn't price gouge for the eclipse, which I also appreciated, not every motel can claim the same. The walking trail behind the building was accessible just past the pool (closed at the time, because it's April) and was really lovely in both directions. The only downside is when this hotel is full, people don't know how to park in front of their rooms and if you want to use the sofa bed, they will charge you for the sheets (their method of keeping track of who uses the sofabed so they dont have to open each one up every time someone uses a room). We opted to just let our four year old co-sleep rather than worry about it. This was a great stay for the price, we will definitely stay again whenever we pass through Sherbrooke!

Stayed there for a long weekend. The room had a weird smell, but otherwise clean. However after we left (having cleaned up our room) we were told we would be charged the $100 deposit for an iron mark on one of the bedsheets. We had not left the iron on the beds and questioned this. We were sent an up-close out-of-context photo of an outline of an iron on a bed cover. There were no burn marks or anything that didn't look like it wouldn't be easily fixed with regular laundering. My friend called back and said we never saw this at all and was told they were going to charge us $200 for it....which was completely ridiculous for a cheap polyester bed cover. We tried calling back again and the woman refused to resolve the issue and hung up. Very sketchy thing to do and with terrible service. Would not recommend it. Try any of the other motels in Lennoxville or if it's the summer stay at the school, cleaner and better service.

Très propre , personnelle gentille et accommodante. L hôtel est vieillot mais pas cher. Matelas et oreillers confortable. L ajustement de l eau de la douche est difficile. Très proche du collège et de l Université . Je reviendrai pour le prix
