I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The room itself was nice and clean, but the noise level from other guests was quite loud. The staff did their best to address the issue, but it was still disruptive to my stay. I would suggest requesting a quieter room if you decide to stay here

I had a great stay at this budget-friendly hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The location was also convenient, with easy access to public transportation. I would definitely stay here again for the value.

The location is near the metro but far away from downtown. Room service is good but other roommates should be careful about smoking in the room.

The apartment has hot shower and aircon. If you choose this place, you will have roommates. I didn't see any laundry shops nearby, so it's either you wash the clothes yourself or you don't (you can choose the latter, so that you don't have to buy hangers, a basin, laundry soap, etc.). There are many restaurants nearby, I suggest you eat "roujiamo" at Lan Cheng Xiang. I wish the landlord would be kinder to Chinese guests. I must have had more than 10 Chinese roommates because most of them left due to having problems with the landlord. Otherwise, he had been 80% nice throughout my 1-month stay. If I ever come back to Shanghai, I will choose this place again because of the friends and acquaintances I made. I will miss them all.

DON'T BOOK IT! OWNER IS A CHEATER! I booked in advance a night for 19th October in Shanghai Wenwen Apartment. According to information provided on Trip.com hotel is located in Pudong New Area, Shanghai, China, but it is the name of whole district in a big city of Shanghai, not exact address. So on arrival day I went to the place shown on the map provided on Trip.com and called to the owner using phone number which I found on my confirmation from Trip.com: +86 ***********. The man answered my phone call and started to speak in Chinese, so I asked him: "do you speak English?". After that he immediately hung up the phone. So I send him a text message: "I have booked a night on Trip.com for today. How to get there?", but he didn't answer this message. So I found some Chinese man in sorroundings and ask him to call hotel owner. He did it and talked with him for awhile in Chinese. After end of their conversation he told me (in Chinese, but I translated it using translator app): "Please cancel this order. Find a new hotel. That is, he has stopped doing it, and then there is a hotel next to him. You can stay temporarily." So after that I booked another hostel and this night I was sleeping there. I asked for refund and compensation, because hotel refused to give me service I paid for. It was their fault, not mine. I have been there to check-in at the right time and the right place. Owner refused to give me refund. Fortunately Trip.com gave me Trip Coins as a compensation, but owner didn't want to give back my money.

Definitely one of the worst hostels I've stayed in. Straight off the bat the place was a nightmare to find having to go into a gated residential area, find the building and get to the specific room (which is not shown on the location on trip). After knocking on the door I walked inside to have 3 men smoking and none of them saying anything about if I'm in the right place or what's going. This finally gets sorted with some Google translate which is fine. Once actually in the hostel room I find a flimsy bunk bed that has one leg tipping off the ground whenever you climb up and the thinnest mattress I've ever used (so it wasn't comfortable at all because you can easily feel the wooden slats of the bed through the mattress). On top of this within 5 minutes of arriving I hear someone angrily shouting down the phone from the kitchen which can easily be heard from inside the room. I later found out it was hostel owner shouting. This leads on to my next point which is that the hostel owner is horrible and useless. I had a flight the next day at 6am and so asked him to book me a taxi for 3am. All he did was tell me to use wechat and he even shouted into his translator twice "don't ask me such simple things" when I asked about booking taxis on another app called gao de. I have no doubt he could've reserved a taxi for me since this is the city in which he lives, but since he is a small grumpy man he couldn't be bothered to help in any useful way. Finally this hostel is seriously out the way of central Shanghai and there is only one bathroom in the whole hostel. Avoid at all costs

The place is very far, the girls room is very small with no space at all to keep your things, overall it’s better to stay at someplace else.
