Country Dream - Langholt 2

Owner was very very friendly and helpful. Self check-in. The key and room number is at the reception area, you just need to pick from there and head straight to your room. Cosy surrounding.

位置在Selfoss附近很偏僻的地方，真是鄉村，用的谷歌導航走錯了路，進住處的支叉路坑坑窪窪難走。我們訂的房間有廚房，廁所，一個廳，一個卧室，都非常小，放行李走路都邁不開腳。房間洗澡水似乎不可調，要不時冷要不就燙人。因為房間多小亂，最後走時把買的酸奶，藍莓等吃的都拉下了。發現時已經開出去20分鐘了。絕大部分冰島人都會説英語，這家不行，沒法交流。國人不建議選這家。

The Country Dream was conveniently located a few miles aside of Selfoss. It has seen better days and is not well maintained outside. The porch/deck had outdoor furniture that had not been cleaned and the porch had not been swept in quite a while. At one time, there was a functioning hot tub on the back porch, but it also had not been maintained in a ling time The back porch furniture was dirty, moldy and stacked in the corner. The inside was clean but pillows were small and thin. The electric and plumbing lines were all exposed on the interior walls. In addition, there were not electrical outlets behind the sink and a power strip was plugged in directly behind the sink. We felt that there were some significant safety issues in regards to the utilities. It was a good idea at one time, but it needs some maintenance. Check in and out were easy and the staff was courteous and efficient.

We had a nice night at Country Dream. Our room although not large, was comfortable. we had 1 bedroom and a pull out sofa.... but wait.... The pull out sofa was not like any normal one where you have to pull everything off and have a bar in your back, it was a case of simply pulling a cord and the whole sofa turned upside down into a bed that was as comfortable as the bed in the bedroom. It took 20 seconds to pull out the bed and 20 seconds to put it back the next morning. The room had a small kitchenette which was adequate for cooking a simple meal. There was also a hot tub available to use with our room. As a bonus, we were invited to go into the stable to visit the owner's very friendly Icelandic horses. He also organised for a beautiful Icelandic Sheepdog to come and visit us. Country Dream is on a horse farm about 5 - 15 minutes drive from the main road between Geysir and Selfoss depending on the conditions. In the right conditions, it would give a great opportunity to see the Northern lights. If you are staying here in winter, I recommend that you ask your rental car company to provide you with a car with metal beads (studs) in the tyres as the road was very icy when we left due to rainfall and freezing temperatures.

On our 2nd last night in Iceland we stayed in our first guesthouse. The cottage was cozy and we appointed with everything you would need to use it as a home base near Iceland's most famous attractions. You are centered in between the Black Beaches near Vik and Gullfoss to the north. The hot tub was an added perk after many days of hiking to the many waterfalls. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. Best value in Iceland to date.

Dit is een hele leuke plek! Ik en mijn vriend waren blij verrast over hoe het terrein er uit zag. We werden heel hartelijk ontvangen. De kamer was ook heel mooi, er lag een roos op het bed en de inrichting was leuk gedaan. Wij zaten in een huisje met nog 1 single kamer er naast, maar er was niemand in die kamer toen wij er sliepen. Het sanitair is heel schoon. Er is ruimte om te koken. Wij vonden het heel jammer dat we hier maar 1 nacht verbleven. Een aanrader!
